Hatchet - Novel

Brian learns about turtles by observing them in their natural habitat near the lake where he is stranded. He watches their behavior, studies how they move and feed, and carefully observes their physical characteristics. Brian's survival instincts drive him to learn as much as he can about the animals around him in order to potentially use that knowledge for his own benefit.

I'm currently reading this book. So far its really interesting!!

When the air plane that Brian is in crashes, because the pilot has a heart attack Brian has to live in a forest (because that is where the plane crashed). In the forest he finds some berries to eat, he makes a fire, and Brian makes a shelter for him to live. Brian is stuck in a forest for 54 days. Brian also drinks water from the lake near by.

In "Hatchet," Brian struggled with feelings of anger and betrayal towards his parents for not telling him about the divorce before he left for the wilderness. He also felt a sense of guilt for initially hoping that the divorce might mean his parents would get back together.

The Resolution to Hatchet is when Brian gets the survival pack and inside is a radio transmit er he pushes buttons and thinks it is broken but it sends a message to a plane flying over and he is saved

In the book "Brian's Winter," Brian's medicine arrow is a special arrow he makes with a long leather tassel attached to the shaft. Brian uses this arrow to mark animals he has wounded but not killed, so he can track and finish them off later. It acts as a sign to help him locate the injured animal when needed.

Brian uses the spear he constructs to hunt for food, specifically fish. The spear helps him catch fish in the lake to supplement his diet and provide much-needed nutrition for survival in the wilderness.
