Since I am a chef and just made hummus today I will give you my homemade recipe. 1 can chick peas 14oz 2oz tahini (sesame seed paste) near peanut butter in store 1/2 clove garlic lemon juice, sea salt In blender whiz 2oz tahini with 1oz lemon juice and 1tablespoon water. It will look like runny cream. Add garlic, pinch of salt, and drained can of chick peas, whiz again until smooth or keep it a little chunky. If it is too thick add a little more water. I add 1 Tablespoon olive oil over the top when I serve it, but you can add it to the blender for more calories. This is really basic and you can add roasted peppers, olives, chili powder, more garlic etc to change the flavor.
