In 1983, Cale Yarborough was the first driver to run a qualifying lap over 200 mph at Daytona. However, on his second of two qualifying laps, Yarborough crashed and flipped his car in turn four. The car had to be withdrawn, and the lap did not count. Cale returned in 1984 to be the first driver to post a qualifying speed of over 200 at 201.848 at Daytona.

Now others may have gotten faster but I'm talking about the ps2 version with no trainers of course. I got the punto in the beginning and kept it through the whole game. I got every tuning part and in a speedtrap race on Ronnie #3 i blurted out my nos in the first trap and i got 247 mph.
