Some look at Wayne's refusal of the Dirty Harry role a mistake or at least a missed opportunity. Wayne didn't see it that way. Although he thought the character was worth a look the language made him take a pass. He would not say the curse words that the script called for and the powers that be would not compromise. A stroke of luck for Clint Eastwood, but I doubt Wayne had any regrets.

What condition is it in? If it is not absolutely NIB, with all papers, etc., its value is that of a shooter. Check the auction sites. Generally speaking, a shooter grade Colt SAA can range from 600 on up into the low four figures depending on what generation, bbl length, etc.

Wayne lived in Newport Beach, CA, about two hours south of Los Angeles. The home was purchased after Wayne's home in Encino burned down. He enjoyed being away from 'Hollywood' and his house was right on the water where he kept his boat.

John Wayne was born in 1907 and died in 1979 meaning he was 72 years old.

Legally he never did. I think he still signed his given name Marion Morrison. As a child he was called Duke along with his dog named the same. The name John Wayne was the suggestion of a director. He thought it sounded more masculine than Marion. He was probably right, and since that time he was known to the world as John Wayne.

It is said that Lancaster turned down an offer to do a film with Wayne because of these differences, but it is difficult to know if this just a story or not.

I believe he was around the age of 6. The move was needed for his father's health. He had some sort of lung ailment. So, he was born in 1907 so the move was around 1913 or so. They ended up in Glendale CA, east of LA.

The Character he played may have been killed in action, but in a sense this was unrealistic as this character, an Engineer Admiral or Commodore ( who, as in real life, wore the Khaki Marine uniform rather than USN whites or Blues) was the founder of the Seabees 9 USN Construction battalions) and certainly survived the war. He did see considerable action, however, not a ( Pentagon desk jockey).

If you mean a romantic relationship absolutely not. By all accounts Wayne was straight. If you mean by a friendship absolutely not. Although Scott and Wayne shared the silver screen on at least one occasion, they had some kind of beef with each other. It's been a long time since I've heard the reason but neither enjoyed the other's company.

Patrick Wayne has 3 children, Michael, Melanie, and Anthony.

He never retired. At the time of his death (age 72) he was rewriting a script for his next project.

As he loved acting and was popular he retired late in his sixties.

He was born in Winterset, Iowa.

Oh yes he does, and he is a Catholic Priest, his grandson sometimes does movies. He preaches at St. Iranaeus Catholic Church in Cypress California

The john Wayne colt and Winchester were both issued in 1981 for the Winchester and 1982 for the colt. The colt is a SAA standard in which 3,100 were manufactured in 1982. The Winchester going by serialization is a Canadian john Wayne which the the proper serial number should indicate CJW928(not CJWC928). with 1,000 of these manufactured in 1981.
