Julius Caesar

Shakespeare more than likely used Plutarch's 'Life of Caesar'. During this period Plutarch's work was very popular and all school boys focused heavily on Greek and Roman history.

Cassius feels that Brutus has insulted him, during the argument they have after the death of Caesar. Brutus calls him greedy and believes Cassius's intention of kill Caesar was not for honor, but for money.

Brutus asks Clitus, Dardanius, and Volmnius to hold his sword so he may kill himself. This takes place in the play Julius Caesar Act 5, Scene 5.

Calpurnia has experienced a prophetic dream that warns of impending danger. Out of concern for her, Caesar initially decides not to go to the senate. When he tells Decius this, he is mocked. He shrewdly questions Caesar about what the people might think of his decision not to go to the senate based on a woman's fears.

The Roman republic would have carried on being in a mess.The central government would have carried on being dysfunctional and unable to control the governors of the provinces (conquered territories) who would treated the provinces as if they were their personal fiefs. Military leaders would have continued to use military force or the threat of it to obtain what they wanted. Tax farming would have continued. This term refers to the extortionate imposition of taxes by private tax collectors who used their role to line their pockets

All God's Children need traveling shoes because as his ambassadors we will be called to go many places and the terrain will not always be comfortable where our feet will be planted. Traveling shoes will insure the needed protection and the correct durability.

The famous phrase uttered by Julius Caesar upon seeing Brutus among his assassins was "Et tu, Brute?" which means "And you, Brutus?" in Latin. Immediately after, Caesar realized that even his close friend had betrayed him, and he succumbed to his wounds and died.

The betrayal of Brutus, who was a close friend of Julius Caesar, played a significant role in Caesar's downfall.
