What does a high mpv in hematology testing mean?

A high mean platelet volume (MPV) in hematology testing indicates that the average size of platelets in the blood is larger than normal. This can suggest increased platelet production in the bone marrow, often in response to conditions such as inflammation, infection, or thrombocytopenia. Larger platelets are typically more reactive and may play a role in increased clotting risks. However, interpretation of MPV should be considered in conjunction with other blood parameters and clinical context.

Can you use Ponstan after expire date?

Yes, but be cautious.

The expiry date on most medicines concerns their strength.

Medicines lose their effectiveness after their expiry date - it drops off slowly, depending on the product.

If the expiry date was recent, they will probably still be 'quite' effective, but just not 'as' effective.

DO NOT overcompensate by taking more than the recommended dose, but if they don't seem effective, buy new rather than exceeding the dosage.
