I'm not sure about lemonade, but carbon dioxide is added to make soda fizzy.
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is a gas that can bind to water (H2O) molecules when it dissolves to form H2CO3, which is a weak acid known as Carbonic Acid.

Aloha. Answer: kāmau kīʻaha kākou or ho`okākou if you are giving it to someone.
A hui hou (until next time).
if you like the tartness of lemon flavor, i would not recommend using only 1 lemon. i personally love lemons and use 4-8 per quart. much of it is personal taste. I have known a person who was not concerned with nutritional value and did not particularly like lemons who made "lemonade" with water, sugar, and lemon extract. i prefer many lemons, water, dash of white vinegar, & a bit of honey. i do not like sweet drinks-preferring a tart, acidic tang.
In short, yes they really work if they have people willing to run them.
The real question is who is running them and why. If its kids running them, this can be a very useful tool to teach them about things that they would normally not be interested in such as the stock market and how economics works.
Lemonade stands also can serve as a building block towards other business ventures. If a kid learns how to detail a car right, they can can offer a car wash- lemonade stand mix. Therefore diversifying the clientele. And if they offer snacks as well as other cold beverages along with their lemonade, then they are sure to make money.
The guidance part needs to be present from beginning to end. Kids may not understand money further than you need it to buy stuff. To educate kids about the true value of money, you have to demonstrate to them how to earn it and how to invest it.
If you show the kids how to buy and trade stocks, they will be millionaires someday. This is almost a fact. Show them how the stock market really works and they will make it work for themselves also.
Another start up for kids older than 11 is landscaping. If a bunch of kids get together for a business start up like that, and incorporate the car wash, and lemonade stand with treats, they will all be walking away with business skills that will make them young Donald Trumps in no time.
Perhaps it will get them so interested in the stock market that they will learn how to orchestrate ponzi schemes and insider trading. That is if they become interested in the economic and business world.
yes if you eat a banana first than skull the lemon-aid
Well, if you are running a lemonade sale, probably 25-50 cents. Yes, this is very low, but more people will stop if the price is affordable. Maybe 75 cents, but a dollar is too high. If the price is low and the lemonade is good, people might give tips like 2 dollars or even 5.
If you intend to sell homemade lemonade commercially (beyond just selling to family and friends) in the UK, you will need a food hygiene certificate from your local authority. Supposedly they're not too difficult to obtain though.
According to Wikipedia, there seem to be 2 candidates for the claim to fame of having invented pink lemonade: 1) Henry E. "Sanchez" Allott; and 2) Pete Conklin.

no lemonade can be sold at any temp, but if anyone will be willing to buy it would be the problem
The fizz in soft drinks is carbonation. That is, the addition of CO2 (carbon dioxide) gas. Carbon dioxide readily disperses in an oxygen atmosphere (ours) so simply leaving a soft drink open will cause it to "go flat." However, some containers, usually plastic ones, have small amounts of porous material that allow for a slight leakage of pressure. Many beverage container companies call this "breathing." When the containers age they breathe out the CO2 and breathe in oxygen. Flat again. One of the things that accelerates this breathing is temperature. If you take a beverage container and move it from cold to warm and back again, several times, the change in temperature forces pressure changes that will dramatically accelerate breathing. Flat, flat, flat. Incidentally, there are CO2 dispensers out there (called home fountains) that will add the fizz back to flat drinks or even carbonate anything you want. Check it out.
