Lemurs live on the island of Madagascar, which is considered part of Africa.
Per Wikipedia:
The species has a slender frame and narrow face, fox-like muzzle. The Ring-tailed Lemur's trademark-a long, bushy tail-is ringed in alternating black and white transverse stripes, numbering 12 or 13 white rings and and 13 or 14 black rings, and always ending in a black tip. Its tail is longer than its body. The fur is so dense that it can clog electric clippers. The chest coat and throat are white or cream. The back coat varies from gray to rosy-brown, sometimes with a brown pygal patch around the tail region, where the fur grades to pale gray or grayish brown. The coloration on the back is slightly darker around the neck and crown. The hair on the throat, cheeks, and ears is white or off-white and also less dense, allowing the dark skin underneath to show through. The muzzle is dark grayish and the nose is black, and the eyes are encompassed by black triangular patches.
The Largest nocturnal Primate is the Aye-Aye.
aye ayes have long middle fingers because so they can make a hole in a mango or cocunut or anything they want to make a hole in so they can eat the inside of a cocunut or a mango
The Indri (Indri indri) is the only living species with a short tail. Of the recently extinct (subfossil) lemurs, several species had short tails, including:
Some animals take care of there young ones. But there is also the one's that are left on their own. ex turtles are animals that are born and then let in to the world on their own. ex lions are animals that take care of their young ones until they are able to be on their own.
Ring-tailed Lemurs live in relatively large social groups for protection. Many sets of eyes and ears help them detect predators, and they have specific alarm calls for alerting their troop to the presence of ground or aerial predators. If a ground predator is detected, everyone climbs into the forest canopy and keeps an eye on the predator.
Well, I have been listening to people, and most say yes. Though in all of my life experience, I have 'never' seen an ant jump, only fall! But if ants can/could jump, I'm guessing it wouldn't be very far!
yes they do they eat each others fur then let them go to where they want.
Aye-Ayes are prosimian primates and are native to Madagascar.
There are no special terms for male aye-ayes (Daubentonia madagascariensis).
The greater bamboo lemur my be able to tolerate cyanide, which can be found in the shoots of the bamboo it eats.
The most important abiotic factor that affects ring-tailed lemurs is water, especially in the parched areas of its range. Sunlight is also important because ring-tailed lemurs sunbathe to warm up in the morning and evening.
The ring-tailed lemur seems to prefer to spend most of its time on the ground although it has a good ability to climb trees. Most other lemurs live in groups, called troops, and spend more time up in trees.
Lemurs are very diverse and exhibit many kinds of behaviors. The diurnal (day-living) lemurs tend to sun bathe in the morning and evening in order to warm up and conserve energy. Nocturnal lemurs tend to sleep in trees holes or build nests.
It is so, SO important to save these amazing creatures. My favourite animal is a lemur, and I think we should protect them from anything that is going to harm them, like cutting down their natural habitat.
While humans see the world in three colors (essentially red, green, and blue), lemurs see the world in one to two colors... and possibly three in the females of some species. Color vision will vary by species.
Generally, lemurs have more rod cells than cone cells, so their night vision is far superior to their color vision, regardless of how many colors they see.
Lemurs are afraid of anything that might attack them and eat them, just like other animals.
