Taking screen shots is done by an app called GRAB. Use spotlight to find it. When it opens, click on its Dock icon and select "Keep in Dock."

With Grab, you can take several kinds of pictures:

With Timed Screen, you can set a timer and then pull down a menu or open something and wait a moment until the pic (.tif) is taken.

There are many way to do this. The easiest, and cheapest is to buy a 1/4 inch plug (guitar cable size) to 1/8 inch plug (headphone size) converter and plug it into the input of the Mac. You can then use Garage Band to get the tone you are after. Also, many companies sell guitar to usb devices paired with guitar modeling software. The key is to ensure that the programs are Mac compatible. An other way is to buy a male-male 1/8 cable and a 1/8 to 1/4 converter (supplied with some headphones) and run a guitar amp into the computor. Be sure to plug the cable into the headphone jack. Then use Garage Band an turn the monitor ON to hear yourself.

Yes you can. I have just tested this on my Macbook. Note that I am running Mac OS X El Capitan.

Here are the steps you need to take:

1. Launch the application "stickies" and create two notes.

2. Press F9 on your keyboard (you may have to hold the "fn" key depending on your settings) to activate "Mission Control"

3. Click the "+" located at the top right corner to add a second desktop

4. While still in "Mission Control" view, click and drag one of the sticky notes and move it to the second desktop that you just added.

5. You will now have one note on the first desktop and a second note on the second desktop.

This will give you different stickies on different desktops, like you asked for. Being in "Mission Control" is critical or else you won't be able to drag the sticky note to the second desktop. If you accidentally click out of it, just press F9 again to activate "Mission Control".

You need to go into the preferences and set up the display settings, ATM it's doing a dual display thing, you want it to either mirror the display or just only use the external display :)

You need to have the MacBook start in Recovery. Restart while holding down Command and the 'R' key until you see the Apple logo. After successfully booting into Recovery, you will be presented with options, including the one you need.
