acrylic nails aren't that bad for your nails they work really good if u wanna break the habit of biting them but.. after you have them on for a long time they make your nails really thin... and just to do the simplest tasks can make your nails bleed.

^ false. Keeping acrylic nails on will not make your nails thin. You must keep up with fills every 2-3 weeks and take care of your nails. ( don't use them as tools, don't bite them off, etc)

uhh not to be rude but are you an idiot? it is excactly what the name says. you go to get a manicure say a week ago and this week you have to go to dinner and you need a manicure to match your dress but your hands are fine no cuticles or anything since your last manicure was recent. so you go to the salon and ask for a color change, pick out your color and they paint ur nails. i mean c'mon people.

Problem 1: the most important chemical in nail polish is nitrocellulose. This is an explosive. It's made by mixing nitric acid (very dangerous) with cotton and waiting until it dissolves. The mixture produces heat (chemists call it an "exothermic reaction"), so you have to cool the nitrocellulose while it's forming.

Problem 2: all the chemicals you need to make nail polish are sold in large quantities--a 55-gallon drum would be a small amount.
