Yes. I have, it just depends on what the nail stylist can do, and also what tools they have if its a skinny design. The design chart is only for advertisement. They can do anything, they only advertise popular designs though. Just bring a design, explain it, and then they'll do their best.

Why would silk wrap nails start to peel off the nail plate after one day?

Because the person that did them didn't properly prepare your nail bed

agreed, if the nail was not prepared properly or lotion or oils were left on the nail... I've never seen wrap come off in one day even when they did not work well for the client or the client was in water too much for wraps to work well. Expired (aged or heat damaged) adhesives can contribute to the problem.

Can a pedicure cause cellulitis?

Yes, you can get cellulitis from a pedicure. I know this firsthand because I am still recovering from the illness, as well as the side effects of the medicine, 2 weeks later. My pedicure person used a razor on my foot to help remove calluses -- which I do not have many of, truthfully -- and cut off an approximately dime-size piece of skin. I generally ask her not to use the pumice stone instead, but I was zoned out from the terrific massage chairs this place offers. I promptly cleaned and bandaged the wound and used antibiotic ointment. I kept the wound clean and changed the dressing regularly. Five days later, my foot really started to hurt and I noticed that the wound had become swollen, red, and shiny. My physician took a quick look at it, diagnosed cellulitis, and prescribed warm water soaks, bandages and 10 days of amoxicillin. The drug so far has given me 12 days' of gastric problems, even though I'm taking probiotics to counteract these and other issues. My nail tech caused this by drawing blood with a razor, which allowed the bacteria a way into my skin. Likewise, you can get cellulitis from any other procedure that causes you to bleed, such as trimming your cuticles too close or pulling out ingrown toenails, which can allow a bacterial infection. You can also get bacterial infections from soaking in foot tubs that have not been cleaned well, as long as you have an opening on your skin.

Where does spit and polish originate?

In the Army, back when boots were made of leather, a highly polished, reflective surface could be obtained by applying Kiwi polish, then spitting (or using a damp rag) on the boot and polishing with a rag. This was a careful, time consuming enterprise, hence rarely engaged in unless before inspections or while in garrison. Spit and polished boots, crisp BDUs and a fresh regulation haircut made a strack soldier.

When was manicure found?

Believe it or not, people have been manicuring their nails for more than 4,000 years. In southern Babylonia, noblemen used solid gold tools to give themselves manicures and pedicures. The use of fingernail varnish can be traced back even further. Originating in China in 3,000 BC, nail colour indicated one's social status - according to a Ming dynasty manuscript, royal fingernails were painted black and red.

The Egyptians also coloured their nails, using red to show the highest social class. It is said that Cleopatra's nails were painted a deep red, whereas Queen Nefertiti went with a flashier ruby shade. In ancient Egypt and Rome, military commanders also painted their nails to match their lips before they went off to battle.
