You probably have the kind that clamps down on the edge of the carpet. It started out as a V. the bottom part is nailed down, the edge of the carpet is inserted and the top half clamped down to hold it. There are hooks on the bottom half that grab the carpet. To remove it, pry up the top half, hold back the carpet and pull up the strip.

I have seen this happen in one of my family situations as well. Its funny really, but, the person who calls the police is the one person that the police will believe. If she was abusing you, you should called the police... I do feel for you and no, it wasn't right that she became abusive towards you. Often society thinks it's only the woman that is abused, but there are a lot of men out there that are verbally and physically abused as well. Good men were brought up not to hit women, so many men take the punishment and won't defend themselves. No matter how abusive she was to you, you should have walked away from the situation and left her to cool off. All you accomplished was becoming frustrated and angry at her and in turn became abusive yourself and no matter what she was saying or doing you were wrong doing it and should have walked out the door. There is a certain point with an angry and aggressive partner that they cease to listen or compute what you are saying to them. It's best to let them get over their hissy fit and when things calm down give them an ultimatum .... "I'll come with you and back you 100% if you'll go for help with your anger issues." If they fight back and refuse, then the only thing you can do is to walk out that door and keeping moving. Trust, me, unless the abuser is willing to get help things will only get worse. Answer I don't subscribe to that particular line of thought. No REAL man ever becomes physically abusive toward a woman he loves, no matter WHAT the circumstance. If you have ever struck your woman, you're a looser and a punk. Don't ever make a claim like that in front of me, you might just find yourself lying on your back wondering what happened. I have to agree with Marcy. If someone is abusive to you then you move on. Two wrongs don't make a right. Love isn't painful...learn from this incident and never date people who don't lift you up. If a relationship is that burdensome move on...I have been married for over 16 years....I know-pick the right person and you can have a great life together.
You should be wearing gloves anyway so it wouldn't matter.
Probably Revlon Fire & Ice.

How do you remove nail polish from clothes?
This is quite a tough thing to do-and sometimes it is unsuccessful-but I suggest putting a LITTLE BIT of nailpolish remover onto the spot and gently rubbing with a damp cloth [NOT PAPERTOWEL OR A COTTEN BALL]. After you do this, the spot should become faded-immediately wash the piece of clothing and repeat the process. I've done this with a black band shirt of mine and all the [white] nailpolish spots came out with no discoloration to my shirt. PS: DON'T OVERDO IT ON THE NAILPOLISH REMOVER-I KNOW YOU WANT THE SPOT OUT BUT TOO MUCH WILL JUST FURTHER DAMAGE YOUR SHIRT. good luck

Does nail polish or nail polish remover have alcohol in it im on antabuse?
I'm on Antabuse also.
Most nail polishes are made of nitrocellulose dissolved in a solvent (e.g. butyl acetate or ethyl acetate) and either left clear or colored with various pigments. (No alcohol, unless It's a fast drying color, or top coat, they should say the main ingredients on the bottles.)
You should be fine to paint your nails.
Polish remover should be fine. I have a generic kind, which lists no alcohol, but acetone is the first ingredient... Acetone is naturally produced and disposed of in the human body as a result of normal metabolic processes. Acetone is the organic compound with the formula (CH3)2CO. This colorless, mobile, flammable liquid is the simplest example of the ketones.
I was worried about painting my nails, but I think I'm going to go ahead and do It anyways today. I might just do a couple, wait a bit, remove It, wait a bit, and see If all goes well.
You really need to look on the label to see if it has it in it..."Cosmetic products, including those labeled "alcohol free," may contain other alcohols, such as cetyl, stearyl, cetearyl, or lanolin alcohol. "--so look for those ingredients...also anything with the SD Alcohol 23-A, SD Alcohol 40, or SD Alcohol 40-B listed in the ingredients.
Neither my nail polish, or remover I found have any in It, yours may not either, just make sure to check.
I <3 Antabuse
Good luck, I hope I helped at least a little!
