Well, since the Big 12 has been around (1996), no team has won the championship. However, two teams currently playing in the Big 12, Kansas and Oklahoma State, have won championships. Kansas was the last to win, in 1988.

University of Kentucky athletic fans are referred to as 'Big Blue Nation' and since UK is a basketball school (meaning the men's basketball team is what most UK fans follow and are die-hard about), there are a lot of Kentucky fans out there.

The 64 teams were announced Sunday, March 16th. The play-in game is Tuesday and the actual tournament begins the following Thursday, March 20th.

Florida defeated UCLA, 73-57, to win the 2006 NCAA Division I basketball championship.

The Terrapins and their coach Gary Williams were the champions.

Kentucky beat Syracuse 76-67 in the 1996 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship game.
