Where do you put the hydraulic fluid in a mf 30 industrial tractor?

You add the dydraulic fluid near the loader control levers, their should be a breather cover there, the one we have has two different sized "nuts" that need to be removed, the lower nut has a dipstick attached. After you take both pieces off you pour the fluid in there. Hope this helps.

I am looking for an exhaust pipe that bolts to the manifold and goes vertical from there. It is for the gas model with loader, if you know anyone that has one.

How do you check safety switches on 231 Massey-ferguson?

I am not a motor head, and have only worked on a MF231 once when one of the safety switches went bad, but here is what i learned:

When my tractor failed to start (failed to engage the starter), my first thought was that the starter had gone bad. I removed the starter and had it tested. Starter was confirmed good, so i reinstalled the starter and started testing the safety switches. Under the steering column, in a little opening on top of the main tractor case slightly inset on the starter side (right side if you're sitting behind the wheel). If you remove both of those leads and set either a test light or a multimeter up to test 12vdc, you should see 12vdc or your test light light up on one side of this neutral safety switch as the key is turned. Obviously if the tractor is in neutral this voltage should pass through to the other terminal, if its in neutral and you are not getting voltage through it then look at replacing the switch. If the starter and the neutral safety switch test good, (as it played out in my specific issue) then there is one more switch that can prevent the tractor from getting 12vdc to the starter. Look at the pto shifter knob, when the pto is engaged it will be all the way up (if your sitting in the seat), put it back in neutral and look toward the bottom of the shifter arm, you will see a bracket that when in the up position it depresses a plunge type switch. Pull the leads off of the back of that switch and it should test the same. When you have the key turned you should have light or 12vdc on one of the 2 leads, when connected and of course in neutral, this voltage should pass through to the other lead if the switch is good. If you have no voltage on either lead, check the ignition switch. As far as my issue, i jumpered the pto safety switch (not even sure that is what its called) from lead to lead and my tractor fired right up. Good luck with your troubleshooting!

Would anyone know how to tell the year of a Massey Ferguson tractor 231 with serial 44081?

If the serial number is "G44081", then it is a 1998 model. For other serial number prefix letters, see the related link below for more information on the MF 231, including specifications on the tractor.

What year is Massey Ferguson tractor with serial G44081?

I'm not sure, but it looks to me like a 1951 Ferguson TO-20 with gas engine. The "G" in the serial stands for gas engine. All the TO's were built in Detroit, MI even though Ferguson was actually British. (TO = "tractor overseas") Note that this would actually pre-date any of the Massey-Ferguson tractors, since they didn't start that name till 1957 (unless memory fails).

How does Massey Ferguson 300 dozer track tensioner work?

The tracks are adjusted with a grease gun. You have to find the grease fitting on the track frame and also the bleed needle and seat bolt. These will be buried in mud so you will have to go digging for them. They are on the idler wheel fork. Once you have found them, (the bleed bolt is on the side and the grease nipple is on the top) crack the bleed bolt and pump in grease trhough the gease nipple, once the track is adjusted, do the bleed bolt back up, and that should be it.
