What exactly is a tied gyro and how do they 'tie' it?
It is a horizontal gyroscope employing a 2 degree-of-freedom gyroscope with its spin axis aligned with the earth's magnetic meridian
What is the shear strength of quartz?
The strength of quartz depends on the flaw size. Typically the strength of quartz is about 8000 psi (55MPa) in tension. If severely flawed it could be as slow as half that value, and if it is stressed in water it could be even lower. If perfect without flaws it will exceed 40,000 psi (275 MPa). I would use about 6000 psi in general and use a large safety factor. Most codes use a safety factor of 5 for glass to be certain in case there are hidden flaws.
In shear I would use the tension value
What is the differeance between upwind and downwind turbines?
An Upwind turbine faces into the wind with the turbine blades in front of the Nacelle* while a Downwind turbine has blades to the rear of the Nacelle and faces away from the wind. Up-wind turbines are by far and away the most common, but down-wind turbines (usually two-bladed) are also used in certain situations.
In very strong winds the turbine blades of a wind turbine generator flex under enormous forces. With a down-wind turbine the blades flex AWAY from the mast which prevents them from crashing into it. Up-wind turbines need to be designed so that the blades are positioned at a good distance from the mast, and they must also be engineered to be inflexible (which costs more money). In addition, when the blades of a down-wind turbine bend it reduces the stresses on the mast as wind energy is lost in bending the blades. Finally, down-wind turbines do not need a tail (or motorised yaw mechanism) to align them with wind as the turbine blades perform this task (although this can also be a serious disadvantage in large down-wind turbines if wires carrying huge currents are getting twisted).
Down-wind turbines on the other hand are generally noisier (additional aerodynamic noise), and the blades are subject to more forces than those of up-wind turbines. Another serious disadvantage of a down-wind turbine is wind shadow behind the mast causing a drop in power each time a blade passed behind the mast.
*Nacelle = is located at the top of the mast and contains the rotor and generator, and sometimes a gearbox. Basically it is everything except the turbine blades, tail, and mast.
What is definition of the under run in filet weld?
A fillet weld in any single continuous weld
may underrun the nominal fillet weld size specified by
2 mm [1/16 in] without correction, provided that the
undersize portion of the weld does not exceed 10% of the
length of the weld. On the web-to-flange welds on girders,
underrun shall be prohibited at the ends for a length
equal to twice the width of the flange.

How can you remove small ding from stainless steel refrigerator?
You can try the little device they have for removing small dings from sheet metal on cars. It's a suction cup device that you tighten down. Check an auto supply store.
What is the yield strength of Q345B steel?
the yield strength of Q345B is 345MPa for thicknesses <= 16 mm.
325MPa for 16 mm < thickness <= 35 mm.
295MPa for 35 mm < thickness <= 50 mm.
275MPa for 50 mm < thickness <= 100 mm.
What is different between sawing and broaching?
Rotary Broaching is a method of producing both internal and external forms fast and accurately on the end of a workpiece. Rotary broaching makes it possible to very accurate forms within 0.0005 inches within seconds.
With rotary broaching not only can you produce standard shapes such as hexagons and squares but also shapes such as Double Hex Rotary Broaches, 6-Lobe Rotary Broaches, Serration Rotary Broaches, J500 Rotary Broaches, Spline Rotary Broaches, Involute Rotary Broaches, Torx Rotary Broaches, Double D Rotary Broaches and any other Special Design Required. Rotary broaches can be made to just about any size, English or Metric.
Some of the material that can be rotary broached is brass, aluminum and steel and can go as much as 2 inches deep.
What is the formula for spring stiffness?
The constant spring stiffness formula is the force applied to the spring equal to the stiffness times the distance it moved.
F=kx.
Depending on where your axis are, it could be negative.
For what purpose they are using drv valve

What difference between clockwise and anticlockwise rotation of steam turbine?
1- it is amatter of preference
2- considered under gyroscopic precession
Difference between yield stress and yield strength?
Stress is a measure of the load applied to a sample relative to a cross sectional area of the sample. Strength is a quantification of the samples ability to carry a load. The terms "yield strength" and "yield stress" of a material are usually used interchangeably (correct or not). It is the stress which will just cause the material to plastically deform. If a material yields at 30,000 psi, the yield stress is 30,000 psi. If the part in question has a cross sectional area of 2 square inches, the strength at yield would be 60,000 pounds, but usually we just say the yield strength is 30,000 psi.
What is a wood cutting tool using four letters?
DADO.I am not sure if I am allowed to use a sentence on this, since it makes my answer more than fourletters. A Dado Is a blade made of different stacked cutters used primarily on table saws. It cuts a groove in whatever the board or stock is, and the width can be adjusted by adding, and taking away from the stack of blades.
What 10 mechanical objects do you use everyday?
Clocks, Foot operated pedal bin, Bicycle (brakes, gears, levers), Scissors, Bicycle pump, Door handle, Hand whisk, Ballpoint pen, Salt and pepper grinders.
Hope this helps.
What is the maximum suction head for pumping water?
I think, that's refer from your system. If you manipulate the surface pressure of the water, you will get a big value of water suction head with higher surface pressure.

Does scfh and cfh mean the same?
scfh is "standard cubic feet per hour" and cfh doesn't neccessarily mean "standard". Standard conditions are stanard temperature (293 K), and standard pressure (1 atm, 101,300 Pa).
Which device controls the speed of the turbine shaft?
The device which control the speed of Turbine is Governor. The Governing system sense the speed of shaft & regulate the Fuel/ Motive fluid flow to the Turbine to maintain the set shaft speed.
Man can do mechanical engineering after agriculture engineering?
No. AgE consists of the application and incorporation of mathematics, chemistry, and biology into the design and management of agricultural systems (e.g. farming, harvesting, processing, etc.). Yes, there are quite a bit of mechanics involved as well, but mostly the understanding of basic vector statics/dynamics. Agricultural Engineering draws from many other fields, as it is a hybrid field. AgE's draw from chemical (production of fertilizer, treatment chemicals, etc.), mechanical (how machinery works, and how to maximize energy output), and industrial/manufacturing (labor flow on the industrial side) engineering principles. Mechanical Engineering itself goes far more in depth than the classical mechanics one would encounter as an Agricultural Engineer. You will learn all about heat and light as well. Fluid mechanics, hydraulics, air flow systems, etc....
