The Mexican Onza are one ounce of silver and trade as bullion coins at or near the current spot price, which as of closing today, is $6.77 per ounce. -------------- As of October 1, 2007, silver is $13.67 per troy ounce.
Not enough information. 5 what? Pesos? Centavos? From what year? Please post a new question.
Its worth from 5 to 10 USD intrinsic value.
This was a highly produced coin which at
time of circulation translated to approximately
5 USD face value. Most of these were purchased
by Americans and brought back as gifts or
souvenirs. Hope this helps. Cherry Ripe.
In the National Geographic Magazine, with a cover story about Neanderthals, is an ad where you can buy these by mail order for 50 a piece. Those for sale in magazines, however, are reproductions. If the question is about the value of a real 1783 coin with "Dei Gratia Carolus III" on it , then the answer would be .. ------------- It would depend on the denomination and condition of the coin. Almost certainly, however, the coin in question depicts King Charles the Third of Spain.
there is no 100 peso coin but if in peso coin you will multiply the 10 peso coin in 10
The coin is worth around $50.00 bucks (depending on silver price). If anyone tries to sell it to you for more than 20 spot on silver its a rip.
I also have this coin and recently traded it in for $345 to a coin collecting friend. Im sure you can get much more for this rare valuable coin.
Not sure who posted this answer, but I also have this coin and did some research. first of all this coin has a mint total of over 200 million, so it is not a rare coin. Second the highest value I could find on this coin is about $5.00 for an uncirculated pristine condition. Im sorry, but you have really ripped off your friend for a coin that's probably worth .89 cents USD.
First of all, your wrong. If the coin says 1000 on it, it's probably 1000 pesos, 12.5 pesos is equal to one dollar. So 1000 divided by 12.5 equals 80, you probably did rip off your friend, because it's only worth $80, my suggestion is to sell it on eBay for a higher price, I too have one of these coins, if not on eBay, try the pawn shop, they will likely give you a little less of your money's worth, but if eBay doesn't work, try the pawn shop, your bound to get some money there!
OK. I Was wondering the same thing. I emailed 2 ppl, one says its worth over $80 and one says its worth only 10Cents. Im not sure who to trust on the internet
Okay, This coin could be worth $80 or $.08, It depends on the year because the old pesos were replaced by the new pesos in 1993. 1000 old pesos equals 1 new peso. 1 new peso equals roughly 8 cents. So if it was before '93 then it is worthless, but if its after '93 than it could be worth 80 dollars.
The "$" sign on Mexican coins can be confusing. In the Mexican currency system the symbol refers to pesos rather than dollars. At the exchange rate in effect as of 11/2013, it's worth about 38 US cents.
Either 4/10 of a cent or maybe only 4/100 of a cent. I forget how many times the peso has been devalued since '89. I have 1000 N$ (new peso) coins that were 4 cents when I got them and I think the decimal has been moved at least one more place to the right since then. As Joe noted, Mexico uses the $ sign to mean pesos rather than dollars. The old peso was revalued in 1993 at 1000$ = 1N$ As of 09/2008 the N$ is worth about 10 cents so 100 old pesos is now the equivalent of a U.S. penny,
It depends on the value and when they were made. Lower value coins (10, 20, or 50 centavos) are currently made from stainless steel. Peso coins are bi-metallic (stainless steel/aluminum bronze). Circulating 20 and 50 peso coins are bi-metallic with a silver center.
You may consult the related links below for more information.
if your pesos is unciculated, like mine, it is worth around 2,000. if not it will be worth a little less. if you want an exact price, go to a coin dealer.
How much would it be worth for this coin...1777 carolus 111 dei gratia silver spanish coin
Your question is a bit oddly-phrased; "Estados Unidos Mexicanos" is the official name of Mexico so you're asking what the value of Mexico is :)
Now, if you're actually asking the value of Mexican money in the US, you need to know the current exchange rate between pesos and dollars. Exchange rates change every day so any answer posted here would be out of date almost immediately. While it's not normal Answers.com policy to say "use the Internet", that's the best approach in this case. You can check a site such as xe.com, CNNMoney, etc. for the latest conversion factors.
If you are asking about the exchange rate, the Canadian and US dollars are around parity (as of May 3, 2010), so a Canadian 5 cent coin would be worth about five US cents.
If you are asking about numismatic value, I would need to know the year and condition of the coin to give you an estimated value.
"Una Onza Troy de Plata Pura" is Spanish for "One Troy Ounce of Pure Silver". I think that you're asking about the Mexican "Onza" coin, although it has only been issued since 1982, which contains 1 troy ounce of silver and trades at its bullion value (although some dates trade at a small premium if they are in Brilliant Uncirculated or Proof condition).
In good condition, the spot (market) price of an ounce of silver plus ~ $4
Not much I'm afraid. Earlier Mexican bi-metallic coins had a sterling silver center, but the 1998 one only has a copper-nickel center. They are just worth face value, about 75 cents US.
A peso is currently worth 7.5 US Cents. a 50 cents mexican coin is
worth 3.75 cents US.
