to ride a pig, all you have to do is put a saddle on it. but i have no idea how to control it so instead i just hit it so it moves but at some point dies. so riding a pig is not a very fun thing to do.

Also just explore the world of minecraft and begin adventures and stuff. You can basically do what you want! There are also really cool mods and texture packs (change the blocks and items) you can download to add to the game that will allow you to do/have much more things than you could,like mo' creatures (adds more animals) and stuff.
