The Mughals were bad as well as good for India.They brought about changes in the art and architecture of India and it was not just a small change but something that altered the history of art in the country.Today almost all of the world famous monuments and architectures in India are made by the Mughals.For example The Taj Mahal,which is a world known beautiful monument.

Sher Shah Suri defeated Humayun in the Battle of Kannauj on 17 May, 1540, and captured Delhi and Agra. He ascended the throne of Hindustan and established the Sur Dynasty. Humayun had to leave India and took refugee in Persia.

The peacock throne was seized along with other plunder. Therefore, the original peacock throne has been lost. Reproductions can be found all over India.

But Nur Jahan's brother and wazir of the Kingdom, Asaf Khan, helped Shah Jahan to ascend the throne after defeating Shahryar.

Dara Shukoh was the eldest and favorite son of Emperor Shah Jahan. He wrote many books in Persian, in which "The Mingling of the Two Oceans" is famous. He believed in the unity of all religions. Dara was declared the heir apparent with the title of Shah Buland Ikbal, however, he was murdered by his younger brother Aurangzeb in 1659.

In 1564, twin sons, Hassan and Hussain, were born to Akbar, but they died in infancy. Salim (Jahangir) was born to him on Aug 30, 1569. The following year his son Murad (Pahry) was born and two years later his son Daniyal. Both Murad & Daniyal had died before Akbar's death in 1605.
