There are three types of muscle tissue found in the human body. There are visceral muscles, which consist of smooth muscle tissue, which is controlled by the autonomic nervous system and responds to both hormones and neural stimulation. Smooth muscles have no striations, as the nucleus is centrally located. Thus, they are involuntarily controlled. Then, there is cardiac muscle, which is only found in the heart and is also stimulated by neural activity and hormones. Lastly, there are skeletal muscles, which aid in the movement of the body and is mostly attached to bones by means of tendons. These muscles are striated, and are voluntarily controlled. Skeletal muscles can further be sub-divided into two categories: red and white muscles. Red skeletal muscle tissue consists of a chemical not found in the white skeletal muscle called myoglobin. Myoglobin is a protein-like molecule, which aids in the storage of oxygen, which is essential to its function. Thus, this extra molecule is responsible for giving red muscles their coloring.

Tetanospasmin is thought to cause the symptoms of tetanus, it is a exotoxin produced by the Clostridium tetani bacterium.

Actin and myosin are both essential proteins involved in muscle contraction and cellular movement. Actin is a thin filament that provides structural support and facilitates movement, while myosin is a thicker filament that acts as a motor protein, converting chemical energy into mechanical work. Together, they interact in a process called the sliding filament model, where myosin heads bind to actin to generate force and contraction in muscle cells.

Smooth and cardiac muscles are involuntary .... Skeletal muscles are voluntary .

Both cardiac and skeletal muscle cells are striated and contract by the sliding filament mechanism. However, cardiac muscles cells are short, fat, branched, and interconnected unlike the long, cylindrical, multinucleate of skeletal muscle fibers.

Calcium ions are pumped back into the sarcoplasmic reticulum. A free ATP will come in and restore the myosin head back to 90 degrees preparing it again for another powerstroke. It's important to note that the myosin head does NOT hydrolyze the ATP. Only in a powerstroke it will hydrolyze the ATP to use the energy to bend the myosin head 45 degrees. If there is no free ATP to release the myosin head from it's bent angle then it remains rigid. That is why when a person dies their muscles stiffen because there are no free ATP to release the myosin heads from the actin filament.

When you do squat exercises you are toning and strengthening the muscles of the thighs, calves and buttocks. These muscles are the gluteals (maximum, minimus and medius), the quadriceps ( rectus femoris, vastus lateralis, vastus medialis, and vastus intermedius), the hamstrings (semitendinosus, semimembranosus, biceps femoris) and the calf muscles (gastrocnemius and soles). The gluteal muscles receive the most benefit.

The muscle spindle helps to control the contraction of muscles. It is a special sensory organ that uses sensory neuronal fibers to find how long the intrafusal muscle fibers are.

Striated muscle appears stripped due to the parallel alignment of many muscle fibers side to side with their sarcomeres lined up.

The striations across each cell are caused by the overlap of the contractile proteins actin and myosin. Actin is the main protein of thin filaments and myosin is in the thick filaments. When actin and myosin are overlapped the darkest band appears( A band), when only actin is present a lighter band, is seen (I band).

Muscles are set kind off like sets. Muscles can only contract and relax. It takes at least two muscles to move a part of the body fully. For example, when your arm is straight, your triceps (back of your arm) contract and the bicep relaxes. When your move your arm to a l shape, the bicep contacts and the tri relaxes. This happens through out the whole body.

Biceps Brachii crosses both the Glenohumeral and Trochleoginglymoid joints.

Sartorius crosses both the hip joint and knee.

Others include tensor fascia lata, rectus femoris, semimembranosus, semitendinosus, biceps femoris, flexors of the forearm cross multiple joints as do the extensors.

There are many others.

the cure for a pulled muscle is rest. you need to do wha ever you can not to over use the muscle. you can massage it and you need to do heat treat ment on it.
