While one team has possession of the ball, a player is called for an infraction if he/she is in the key for 3 seconds. If there is a loose ball or a rebound, players may be in the key for as long as it takes for the ball to be rebounded or possessed.

Ray Allen (Boston Celtics) is the best quick-release shooter, and probably the best 3 point shooter too.

If you want a team that can shoot 3-pointers though, 3 point shooting teams like Orlando Magic would work well as nearly everyone (Except Dwight Howard) is a good long range shooter.

Actually, UNLV did it in 1990-91 (for the regular season). There stil could be others, I haven't researched it.

Actually UCLA did it at least 4 times: 1963-64, 1966-67, 1971-72, and 1997-73. I say "at least" 4 times since my reference only lists undefeated seasons that include the tournament, so I'm not 100% sure that there were no additional undefeated regular seasons.

Actually, North Carolina did it in 1924 and 1957, winning national championships in both seasons (the '24 one is sometimes disputed due to how it was received...the Helms Foundation at that time voted a team to be the national champion).

The answer should be Kentucky, but I think Kansas is right there too. Remember this is all time winning percentage and some schools like UCLA and Duke with higher NCAA tournament percentages actually have significantly lower overall win percentages because of several years of .500 or below overall records. In the last 75 years, Kentucky has had maybe 2 losing seasons and the most 30+ wins seasons in college basketball during that time. Kansas too hasn't had too many stinkers if my memory serves me. In men's basketball, Kentucky has more NCAA basketball championships. Kansas' men's basketball team has won the NCAA championship three times while Kentucky's men's basketball team has won the NCAA championship eight times. In women's basketball, neither team has a championship.

Through 2013, the NCAA men's basketball tournament has been won once (1959) by UC (University of California-Berkeley), which is more commonly known as "California" or "Cal-Berkeley."

There are two retired.

#12 was retired after Clyde 'Smackover' Scott finished his College Career. He gave his approval for it to be brought out of retirement in 1974 for Steve Little. It was again retired after Little finished his career.

#77 was retired after Brandon Burlsworth was tragically killed in an automobile accident shortly after he was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts. Brandon was a walk-on out of high school who went one to earn a scholarship and All-American honors his Senior Year.
