The word used by commentators was "destiny". The Saints fell short of meeting the Colts in 2006 (leaving that to the Bears). They knew that it would take two or three years to assemble the most potent offense in the NFL, which is exactly what happened. When you go 13-0, you should expect to be in the big game, and to win it. Unfortunately, Manning now has to deal with another "coulda shoulda" season.

It does of course depend on what time period one is asking about. Sunday 8/28/05 before the storm hit landfall there were about 15,000 of us in the Superdome. Monday night after the storm hit and was headed away there were probably 20,000. On Tuesday 8/30/05 long after Katrina had left and the levees failed it was growing up to about 30,000.
