I wouldn't know, though I would question the idea of a piranha smelling under water. We tend to mean smell when we inhale an odour, if we tasted something in water that would be taste and since fish evolved in water they shouldn't have any sense of smell I shouldn't think! It would be a question of taste.

Yes it is illegal. Recently our lake was shut down cause some idiot dumped 200 piranhas in it... But back in the 80's it was legal but not it isnt

Bull Sharks can survive in fresh water. They have advanced kidneys compared to other sharks. There is no limit to how long until they have to go back to salt water. They can stay in fresh water as long as they like. When they travel up rivers they try to find the biggest lake they can find so there is enough open space and a good supply of fish.

Because the can catch lots of fish, and successfully get away from larger predators using their razor sharp teeth, and super speed this is due to a streamline body and powerful muscles in its jaw and tail.

Piranhas do not just attack people for no reason. They may go into a feeding frenzy at the smell of blood and they will attack if they sense frenzied movement like that of a fledgling bird falling into the water. Really they, like many animals, can find much easier prey than humans so attacks on humans are rare although they do occasionally happen when water levels are low.

Normally, piranhas eat other fish and wounded animals. As long as you are uninjured, piranhas will likely leave you alone. However, if you have been cut enough to allow blood into the water, they will go into a feeding frenzy and can then be quite dangerous, even lethal.

Of course but Piranhas only-these are heavy-duty carnivorous fish. it might be obigatory to have tank warnings, akin to (Danger-High Voltage) signs around electrical equipment. the hazards are real. I believe it is possible to legally keep Piranhas as pets, but there are restrictions involved, as with Motorcycles and other inherently hazardous actions. I have seen them in pet shops but not recently.

Piranhas hunt during the day and sleep at night. If they are disturbed from their sleep they will usually flee. Their color dulls as they sleep and comes back when they wake up.
