How many moons does Jupiter have in our solar system?

Jupiter has 63 confirmed moons. See link for further information about them.

What is the second closest planet to Jupiter?

The planets are always moving and not all in a line as often depicted on maps of the solar system. So the distances between planets is constantly changing. Typically we see Mars and Saturn as the two planets that are nearest to Jupiter. If all 3 were in a perfect line on the same side of the Sun, Mars would be nearer to Jupiter than Saturn. However, if Jupiter and Saturn were in a straight line on one side of the sun and Mars in a straight line from them but was on the other side of the sun, then Saturn would be nearer.

Has anybody been to Jupiter?

No. Nothing can land on Jupiter as it does not have a solid surface. However, one atmosphereic probe was sent to Jupiter in 1995, and the Galileo space probe was deliberate burned up in Jupiter's atmosphere in 2002.

How long would it take to get from Jupiter to the sun?

It depends on how fast you go. For a space ship it would take several months to make the journey. Light takes about eight and a half minutes to reach the earth from the sun, but Jupiter is five times further out, so light takes a good 45 mins or so to make the journey.

Does Jupiter have storms?

Not really. A hurricane is a specific type of storm driven by mechanisms not found on Jupiter. Jupiter does however have cyclonic and anticyclonic storms that have some characteristics in common with hurricanes, with a spin driven by the planet's rotation.

Has any one been to Jupiter?

no only the moon

no one have been on Jupiter because it a big ball of gas held together by gravity
Zero. No human has ever been to any other surface off Earth, besides the moon. Jupiter is a gas giant. It's the largest planet in our solar system. It is made up mostly of hydrogen and helium. It's atmosphere is toxic to humans. We think it may have a rocky core, but have no way of knowing at this time. The atmospheric pressure is tremendous and would crush any ship trying to find it's surface... if there is one.

How old the planet earth is?

Oh, dude, the Earth is like super old. It's around 4.5 billion years old. Can you even imagine all the drama it's seen in that time? Like, it's been through so many geological makeovers, it's practically the ultimate reality TV show contestant.

What is the temperature during the day and the night at Jupiter?

Jupiter's temperature at night depends on a lot of factors. The latitude and the depth in the atmosphere are the most important. First, there is probably not much difference between daytime and nighttime temperature. The rotational period of Jupiter is about ten hours, so night is only 5 hours long. This does not allow much time for cooling and heating during a day cycle. Second and most important, the place in the atmosphere will play a part in the temperature. At the place where the atmosphere is at the same pressure as Earth's (1 atmosphere) the average temperature is about -110° C. Closer to the surface, the temperature would be higher. Farther out it would be lower. Due to the immense thickness of the atmosphere, I would say they is not much variation at the 1 atmosphere level between daytime and nighttime, so use the -110° C figure as a guide. S if you really want to know the answer dog, its -110.
In Jupiter the temperature changes very often. In the day Jupiter is 250 degrees but at night it is 143 degrees.

What should you pack if your going to Jupiter?

You would need the obvious. Spaceship, space suit, supplies, but you would also need some other stuff. You would need to freeze the planet with liquid helium so the surface would turn from a gas to a solid. Or you could try flying with a jet pack in 300mph+ winds, plus a hover jet thing for your rocket. Also, I would pack some anti-gravity since you probably won't be able to stand without it without being compressed into a pulp. The pressure on Jupiter is extremely high. I would also pack some oxygen tanks to breathe because the atmosphere only has trace amounts.

How many apples could fit in the volume of the earth?

If the Earth's radius is approximately 6780km.

Volume of sphere is V=4/3*π*r^3

Therefore,

V(earth)=4/3*π*(6780000)^3

V(earth)=1.31*10^21 cubic metres

Assuming the average radius of an apple is 5cm

Therefore,

V(apple)=4/3*π*(0.05)^3

V(apple)=5.24*10^-4 cubic metres

Hence, the amount of apple that could fit in the volume of Earth is

=V(earth)/V(apple)

=(1.31*10^21)/(5.24*10^-4)

=2.5*10^24

=2.5 Septillion apples

=2,500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 apples :)

How long does it take for Jupiter to go around the sun?

"How long goes it take Jupiter to orbit the Sun?" is a question that we get from time to time here on Universe Today. Jupiter orbits the Sun every 11.86 Earth years (or 4,332 days). The longer orbital period for Jupiter is because it orbits at an average distance of 778 million km(Earth orbits at an average of 150 million km).

How long would it take to walk around Jupiter if you could walk on Jupiter?

At the level in the atmosphere where the pressure is one (1) bar, Jupiter has an equatorial circumference of about 44384 miles. A standard walking pace for someone energetically walking distance is 4 miles per hour.

At that rate, if there were a surface to walk on, and there is not one at that level, it would take a person 11096 hours or 924 Earth days (walking 12 hours per day) or a bit more than 2.5 years to walk around Jupiter, assuming you never took a day to rest or be ill.

How much is Jupiter worth?

It is not possible to assign a monetary value to a planet like Jupiter as it does not have inherent economic value. Jupiter is a gas giant in our solar system known for its impressive size and unique features, making it a valuable object of study for scientists and researchers.

Where can you get info on Johannes Keppler?

You can find information on Johannes Kepler in libraries, historical archives, academic journals, and reputable websites dedicated to astronomy or science history. Museums and educational institutions may also have resources available for research on Kepler's life and work.

How much would a mission to Jupiter cost?

A space expedition to Jupiter would cost approximately 530 billion dollars, if you were to send an entire crew on the trip and back. This is because the cost of space equipment, resources, and many other factors would be outrageous even if you were to only send a shuttle to the planet. A round trip to the planet would be increasingly expensive considering the amount of time and resources it would take to cover approximately 628,743,036km (using the shortest distance) to Jupiter and a longer distance back.

Why would your ex smile when he sees you?

Both of you must realize by now (he does) that you have both moved on and hopefully there is no hard feelings, so he's smiling at you because he's not only polite, but probably happy to see you as a friend. It depends on the kind of smile... if it's a 'Hi how are you kinda smile then you are just friends. If it is a , 'Wow you look good today', smile then it might mean a little more.

What are the similarities between Jupiter and Mars?

Oh, dude, Jupiter and Mars are both planets in our solar system, so that's pretty cool. They're both made of rock and gas, but like, Jupiter is way bigger than Mars - like, it's the big brother of the two. So, yeah, they're similar in some ways, but also totally different sizes.

How many times bigger is 0.4 than 0.04?

Oh, dude, okay, so like, 0.4 is like 10 times bigger than 0.04. You just move the decimal point one place to the right in each number and bam, there you have it. Math, am I right?

How many pencils would it take to circle the earth?

The height of typical pencil is about 15cm. Laid end to end you would need 66,791,933 to circle the Earth at the equator.

How many Rhode Islands could fit in Jupiter?

Oh, what a delightful question! Well, Jupiter is quite enormous, so you could fit over 1,300 Earths inside of it. Now, Rhode Island is a tiny state, so you could fit over 1,000,000 Rhode Islands inside of Jupiter! Isn't that just amazing to think about? Jupiter's vastness is truly a sight to behold.
