Is there life Saturn?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It is not known if there is any life on Saturn. The odds are that if there were it would be different from life here on Earth. Saturn's environment features include strong gravity, high pressure, strong winds, and cold temperatures of -180oC to +40oC degrees.

On the plus side there are available reactive materials in the cloud decks - ammonia, ammonia hydrosulfide, and water. There is also ample energy in the environment from lightning, ultraviolet light, and charged particles.

Science Fiction writers have postulated critters that could live in this type of environment which might fly in the clouds with vast gas bags of helium or hydrogen to keep them aloft, but no evidence of their preence has been found.

When does the Age of Aquarius start?

User Avatar

Asked by Michael Kreiger

The New Age of Aquarius has already started, some years ago.
There are theories that it will start though, in 2012 and then the same theorist says it will "all be over in a flash of light". That seems untrue and quite fearful, no matter who wrote it.
In fact, there are many name for this Age:
1. The New Age.
2. The Age of Aquarius.
3. The Age of Enlightenment.
4. The Age of Forgiveness.
5. The Golden Age.
6. The 17th Golden Age (a problem with that).
7. The Celestial Age.

If a person quests for more truthful Knowledge and Enlightenment, they are usually on the right track.

What is bigger Earth or Saturn?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Basic Answer:

Saturn is much larger than Earth, as are all the gas giant planets.

How large depends on whether you are comparing the apparent size or diameter, the mass or the volume.

1. Linear Size: The width or radius of Saturn is 9 times that of Earth.

2 Volume: You could fit 792 Earth's inside of Saturn.

3. Mass: Saturn has 95 times more mass than Earth.

More information below.

Data obtained from NASA. See related links.

Saturn and Earth Sizes:

Mass of Earth is 5.97 x 10^24 kg.

Mass of Saturn is 568 x 10^24 kg.

Diameter of Earth is 12,756 kilometers.

Diameter of Saturn is 120,536 kilometers.

For all Planets:

Diameter Ratio

Diameter ratio of Mercury to Earth (4,879/12756) = .382

Diameter ratio of Venus to Earth (12,104/12,756) = .948

Diameter ratio of Earth to Earth (12,756/12,756) = 1.00

Diameter ratio of Mars to Earth (6,792/12,756) = .532

Diameter ratio of Jupiter to Earth (142,984/12,756)= 11.20

Diameter ratio of Saturn to Earth (120,536/12,756)= 9.44

Diameter ratio of Uranus to Earth (51,118/12,756) = 4.00

Diameter ratio of Neptune to Earth (49,528/12,756) = 3.88

Diameter ratio of Pluto to Earth (2,390/12,756) = .187

Volume Ratio

Volume ratio of Mercury to Earth (4,879/12756)^3 = .055

Volume ratio of Venus to Earth (12,104/12,756)^3 = .851

Volume ratio of Earth to Earth (12,756/12,756)^3 = 1.00

Volume ratio of Mars to Earth (6,792/12,756)^3 = .150

Volume ratio of Jupiter to Earth (142,984/12,756)^3 = 1331

Volume ratio of Saturn to Earth (120,536/12,756)^3 = 729

Volume ratio of Uranus to Earth (51,118/12,756)^3 = 64

Volume ratio of Neptune to Earth (49,528/12,756)^3 = 27

Volume ratio of Pluto to Earth (2,390/12,756)^3 = .006

Mass Ratio

Mass ratio of Mercury to Earth (.330/5.97) = .055

Mass ratio of Venus to Earth (4.87/5.97) = .815

Mass ratio of Earth to Earth (5.97/5.97) = 1.000

Mass ratio of Mars to Earth (.642/5.97) = .107

Mass ratio of Jupiter to Earth (1899/5.97) = 318.090

Mass ratio of Saturn to Earth (568 /5.97) = 95.142

Mass ratio of Uranus to Earth (86.8/5.97) = 14.539

Mass ratio of Pluto to Earth (.0125/5.97)= .002

What formula is used to figure the time it takes a radio signal to travel from Mars to Earth?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Radio waves, like all other waveforms in the electromagnetic spectrum travel at what is known as the speed of light. i.e. 3x10 to the power 8 metres per second (300,000,000)

but the distance between the earth and mars varies enormously depending on their relative positions in their orbits around the sun. Anything from approx 35 million miles at it's nearest to about 340 million miles or thereabouts at it's furthest.

So roughly 3 minutes minimum to about 30 minutes maximum.

How many times bigger than Honduras is the US?

User Avatar

The US has a total area of about 9, 826,675 square kilometers, France has about 674,843 square kilometers. Dividing the US's by France's give you a quotient of about 14.56.

So, the US is around fourteen and a half times largerthan France.

Why do you think wind speeds on the gas giant planets are so much greater than the wind speeds on earth?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Probably the biggest reason is that there is no land to slow down the wind. Also, wind is caused by differences in air pressure, which are caused by uneven heating and cooling. The gas giants have not only the heat from the sun but also their own internal heat. Jupiter is so massive that it generates more heat than it receives from the sun.

What is the terrain like in Paris?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The underlying terrain in Paris is that of a river basin; a saucer with a few lumps in it. Originally, the lower ground, especially North of the river, was essentially marshy (one quarter is still called 'le Marais'). The town grew up between the islands (where the river crossing was the reason for the place's existence) and the most prominent of the hills to the South. Is there been anything on Saturn?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

There have been no probes to the "surface" of Saturn since it has no actual surface - it's a giant gas cloud, a gas giant. We have sent probes near it and some have passed by it (Cassini, Voyager..) but anything we build would be molten metal before it got near the surface. Like anything launched at the Sun - it's gonna be slagged before it gets anywhere near it.

How does the size of Saturn compare to the size of the Earth and the Sun?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

To be brief, it's much larger than the Earth, yet much much smaller than the Sun.

Well first off, Saturn is a little tricky to measure because it is not completely spherical. Saturn, along with the rest of the Jovian planets, or Gas giants, is an oblate spheroid. What this means is that the planet is flattened at its poles and bulges out at the equator where its rings surround it. The polar circumference of Saturn is approximately 170,702 km, about 8.5 Earths. Its equatorial circumference is about 189,241 km, almost 9.5 earths. This compared to earth's mean circumference, about 40,000 km, makes earth pretty puny to Saturn. If Saturn were a basketball, Earth would barely be the size of a small marble.Compare that to the sun's whopping circumference of 4,379,000 km, this would take about 72 Saturns lined up next to each other to make a ring around the sun. It would take 109 planet Earths to do the same!

How long does the Great White Spot last?
