The red fruit can be eaten as is when ripe. The rind (white part) can be pickled. And the seeds can be salted and toasted like sunflower seeds.

The skin is not poisonous, and in fact contains valuable antioxidants. However, it is considered inedible because it is bitter. The white pith is likewise nontoxic, and many people eat it along with the seeds.

Cantaloupe seeds hulled used in India in Dal Moth (Cruncgy mix snack) and on naan (it is flat bread) like sesame seeds. Yes they are edible. I am sure you should be able to buy it in market, like hulled pumpkin seeds(sold as pepitas).

The only place I have been able to find Ocean Spray 100% Apple Juice is at the Yoshinoya Restaurants. They sell it in a 15.2fl oz bottle size. I don't know why Ocean Spray would only choose to sell it at a fast food chain. I have looked on-line and only found it on Amazon but at an exorbitant price.

You have to buy fruit produced in a hothouse (heated greenhouses), or imported from another country where the fruit is in season.

Well, both. Most types of pomegranates are deciduous but there are varieties that are evergreen such as the 'Vietnam'. Vietnam pom is also able to produce fruit in areas of high humidity where normal pomegranates such as 'wonderful' thrive but have trouble bringing fruit to maturity due to humidity and heavy rains that cause the fruit to crack and subsequently rot.

A rule of thumb is wait until September. The hue of the pomegranate will get darker and darker all throughout September. The longer you allow them on the tree, of course, the sweeter they will be. By mid-October, they should begin to to turn a deep shade of purple. Much like citrus, ripe pomegranates can last for several weeks and even months on the tree (assuming the birds don't get them), which is to say, there's really no critical harvesting period. I've eaten a pomegranate from my tree in late November. Your best guide is common sense: pick your reddest pomegranate and determine if it's sweet enough, if it's not too tart.
