What affects did the song get up stand up by Bob Marley have on people?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

"Get up stand up" was the confirmation of the rise in the concern about people's lack of self determination, mainly related to the rights of black people in the society of about a generation ago (our fathers). Today, the message delivered by this song is much wider, because it stands for the need of the whole humanity to stand for their rights in a time when rights are becoming less and less as time goes by.

I'm sure though that Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, visionaries as they were, made this song thinking timelessly about humanity.

After landing in Miami,Florida, he was taken to hospital for immediate medical attention. He died at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Miami (now University of Miami Hospital) on the morning of 11 May 1981, at the age of 36. The spread of melanoma to his lungs and brain caused his death. His final words to his son Ziggy were "Money can't buy life" Marley received a state funeral in Jamaica on 21 May 1981, which combined elements of Ethiopian Orthodoxy and Rastafari tradition. Was Bob Marley ever arrested?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Yes, Elvis was arrested only once that is among the "public record". Elvis Presley was arrested in the mid-1950s for a speeding violation whereby he was cited for doing over 70 mph en route to a performance.

Scotty Moore and Bill Black were resting while Elvis was driving until the sounds of Elvis speaking with the Police Officer awakened them. Elvis tried to make light of the situation by saying "well, hopefully this will be the last time they catch me". As Scotty and Bill followed Elvis to the Police Station Elvis paid in cash the fee (approximately $24.00) and there was no further action required. This sole event "embarrassed" Elvis as he was always respectful of the law.

Bob Marley improved our nation because he smoked nutmeg with Richie Ramos. then they did a little dance, made a little love, and got down that night ;) yea down on there knees, till bob screamed " oh baby please " . now Bobs dead, and Richie is still in high school, and sadly still hooked on nutmeg like its phonics. But at least he kept his promise to Bob, that one day he would have a dream, that white people rule the world. oh wait, never mind. Richie told me that in history class! happy black history month ;)

Who other then bob Marley sings shot the sheriff?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The person who shot and attempted to kill Bob Marley remains nameless to this day. It is believed that one of the culprits was killed by local people who discovered his involvement, the others are still unkown. The theft of marijuana is considered an unlikely motivation, as the gunmen's actions suggested only the desire to kill Bob. The assination attempt was believed to be politically motivated at the time, though whether it was from left of right wing was a matter of debate. Evidence since, including testimony of a former CIA agent, has suggested the CIA supplied weapons for this attack and may have been involved in motivating it. The CIA have, to date, refused to de-classify any of their files and information regarding Bob Marley or offered explanation as to why they have classified files on him.
