July 1928 and November 1934 in remembrance of those 114,000 men and women of Victoria who served and those who died in the Great War of 1914-1918. 89,100 of them served overseas and 19,000 did not return.

• The poppy is worn above the heart which would be the left side. Some service people wear it on the left side of their tams or hats. It always should be on the left side over the heart to respect those that have fought in wars previous and present and even those that made it home. It's an honor!
  

The 2 minute silence is observed, every year on November 11'Th, to recall all the soldiers who died in the wars.
