Jockey's Ridge is the name of the Largest Sand Dune on the East Coast which is located in Nags Head, NC. It is also a State Park.

There are only two sand dunes in Michigan. The two sand dunes are Sleeping Bear Dunes and Sliver lake sand dunes.

Wind erosion and deposition may form sand dunes and loess deposits. When the wind strikes an obstacle, the result is usually a sand dune!

It is beleived the get all the water they need from the blood and other body fluids of the prey they eat.

Sand dunes need at least 3 ingredients - lots of sand, lots of wind, and minimum rain. Lots of sand is found along the former edges of the ice sheets, where it was deposited when the glaciers finished grinding down the rocks and melted in the warming climates. Dry is found on the eastern side (lee) of coastal mountains which strip off the ocean's moisture. Wind is everywhere.
