Technology that Prof.D.Dutta Majumder was not only the key player in installing the first Working Digital Computers in India at the ISI, Calcutta viz.HEC-2M built at the University of London, and then URAL-1 FROM THE THEN Soviet Union, in the late 50′s but also he was the keyman in the design, development and fabrication of an indigenous Second Generation Digital Computer System known as ISI-JU-1, based on Magnetic Memory Systems along with a highly innovative automatic Track Switching Mechanism which was published in the then famous Journal Electronics Engineering, U.K., (1) in 1958 for which he received some money from the journal and also published a series of Papers in the Indian journal of Physics all in sixties, for all these he received the Prestigious Sir.J.C.Bose Memorial Award in 1969 (1-9), (14, 18, 20, 23). His contribution in the "Digital Computer Memory technology" was well documented in the book which was jointly published by Wiley Eastern, India, & John Wiley & Sons, New York, and was acclaimed by the Reviewers in USA & U.
