Your best bet is to copy the serial number and include it in a letter to the company if they are still in business. They should be able to pass you more information.

I just paid $300 for one in very good shape, hardly used. I didn't know it was Sears, but I figured it was some house brand. The receiver and barrel are actually quite nice; the wood is VERY plain.

GunParts catalog lists that particular model as being produced by High Standard, but the exact model is unknown, but I suspect it may be a High Standard Supermatic deluxe (if it is an automatic) or a flight King model (if it is a pump). I saw one today in a pawn shop, it was in good shape for $200.00

I traded and got one the other day and was wondering that someone told me that on the right side of the barrel you will see a small circle with a number in it and that is supposed to be the year mine has 70 so i assume mine was made in 1970.

This gun is the same as a Savage Model 94. There were 934,000 made between 1926-1945. Depending on condition pricing is generally between $50-$125.

Do you have a model number (Sears guns usually have a number like 123.12345)? Condition will also be important, but for a rough idea of the value, go to a Walmart or a sporting goods store and find the least expensive new .410 with the same action type and figure that your used gun is worth 1/2 to 2/3 of that price.

Marlin * ** Marlin? Which Marlin ** Ranger was a trade name used by Sears prior to World War II, changing to JC Higgins after the war. I can't think of any bolt-action Marlin .410 model... enlighten me? I'm researching the same question w/ a similar sears rifle. So far, I've discovered the sears model 5, 22cal rifle Mod No. 273-2340 & 273-2341(the one I possess) were contracted out to Winchester. Under the Sears brand, they were the Model 5. Winchester manufactured the same rifle, starting in 1963 under the Models 150 & 250. On-line auctions have the values of the Winchesters ranging from $40 to $250 depending on condition. Less info is avail. about the model 5's. The one variance I've noticed is that the forearm on the Model 5 is distinctly different from the Winchesters, that appear more on the line of the Model 94 look. But then again, Hey- I'm no expert. If you can determine the value of the Winchester branded gun, figure that the Sears name will reduce the value by 20-40%

I looked for this in my older gun digests and altho it does not list the gun it does say that guns like these were made by various manufacturers. The closest thing that I could find that resembles it was listed under Winchester as the Model 250 standard but with the early production plain stock and forearm. As we all know, they will make these based on a model they have but with different features so that they are not exactly like what the company that made them actually sells. So the sights, stock, and etc. can be different but the actions are the same. The Model 250 Winchester lists at $125 in the Gun Traders Guide 16th Edition of 1993. I would imagine since this is meant to be a cheaper gun sold by Sears, the value would be in this price range today, especially since no one seems to list this in their books. ( I have checked any book I could find in various stores and never found it listed.) The Winchester was made 1963 to 1973 and then discontinued. Maybe someone has more info. I paid $105 for mine at an auction and it is worth every penny of this to me.

There should be an assembly date code on the barrel just forward of the receiver in thr form of two upper case letters.

Sears model 21 pump shotguns were made by High Standard. The High Standard model designation is the K2011, also known as the Flite/Sport King. They were manufactured between 1960 and 1966. The K2011 was a 20ga shotgun, specifically the Flight King Deluxe. High Standard guns are characterized by Series (such as K2011) and then by catalog number which further defines exact features, barrel length, etc. The Sears Model 21 in .410 was a version of the K-410 series Flight King Field shotgun, catalog #8450. Same as Winchester Models 150 (uncheckered stocks), or 250 (checkered stocks). Values range according to condition and checkering. In very good condition probably around $110 - $130.
