To be quite honest this has everything to do with your brother and little to do with you personally. By that I mean, your brother is angry and disappointed in himself (though he would never admit that.) He knows he is a personal failure at this point in his own life and he wants you to feel as bad as he does.
I realize it's difficult to ignore while living under the same roof but you have to put this in it's proper prospective (understand the problem is HIS,) and try not to take it so personally. Keep the focus on your own life and avoid interaction with him as much as possible. Until he gets his own life under control his attitude isn't likely to change much.

If the response is not what you expected to hear then be calm and think about, and ask your friend for help and advice on improving your own attitude.
