Silly Bandz

The original shaped bands were made by a Japanese designer in 2002. Robert Croak saw them on a business trip in 2007 and changed the sizes/colors and called them Silly Bandz. They came out in 2008. The link below tells the story.

That's a dumb answer. If people used that answer for every question, the world would still be flat, the world would still revolve around the sun, and there would be no silly bandz.

The better answer comes from KGB: "Silly Bandz are made of silicone & die molded which is what allows them to bounce back into fun shapes such as animals & letters after being worn as bracelets."

Which was, in fact, the answer I was looking for, not a cop-out answer like "they just do," or "to make little girls/boys ask questions."

I don't think so they are a waste of money and are a very big distraction during school. But it depends on where you live, where I am kids use them as a way of expressing who they are with silly bandz that mean something to them (lets say you have a dog, they would wear a dog, and If u like the sun you would wear a sun, etc. )

Yes. They have silly bandz pretty much anywhere, the only place they havent hit, is California. Which really sucks cuz my cousin lives there & im always talkin bout' em' and shes always like SHUT UP! lol :P anyways, hope that helped (:
