I have had the same problem, here are some things that might have happened to them.

There is one thin cord in the jack that is connected to your computer/tv/whatever. If you accidentally yank on it, or pull it out, twist it around, damage it in any way, there is a good chance that you have accidentally broken that VERY thin cord. Just treat them better, and avoid any harsh contact with them, and they should stay there for a long time.

Sometimes I understand that you listen to music really loud, for earphones, one side plays part of the music, while the other continues on a different part, if one side is more harder music than the other, it may break, from all the vibrations, causing one side to play and one side not to play.

If you listen with only one earphone in at a time, then the other is left dangling off of your shoulder, when you sit back in your chair, or lie down, the dangled side may accidentally get twisted around, or sat on, and break. It is so easy to break earphones, just be VERY VERY careful around them.

Here are some tips to keep them around fr a while.

Do not overuse them, overuse will break them, and pumping music through them loud, may damage them more.

Do not leave them in the earphone jack while they are not in use, for you may accidentally twist them and break them, and leave them in a safe place when not in use.

If you are very harsh on earphones, i would recommend not buying the MOST expensive ones at first, because there will be alot of money poured into them.

And last but not least...

Put a battery into the Subwoofer/Bass Amplifier. If you look, there should be a slide opening in the side of the Subwoofer adjuster. In the package there should have been a battery included (inside the protective leather bag). Future recommendation: read the instructions that come with the headphones :P Enjoy your extra bass ;)

P.S. You also have to turn the Subwoofer "on." There's a switch on the side of the adjuster.

The ear buds aren't the problem, its the volume. They have the potential to hurt your ears permanently because they don't allow sound waves to escape, but that is also their advantage (they block out noise). Keep the volume just loud enough to hear it, excess is bad.

This is all a matter of opinion. The x11's are great and have done good for me for 5 months. I just got the ax180s and they work well and i think are less pressure on your head. The skull candys are in my opinion not fit for the match up.

Xbox 360 Chat? Have you tried different headphones to see if it's the xbox? Have you tried plugging your headphones into a computer to see if the headphones are the issue?

Skullcandy is a terrible headphone manufacturer. Chances are the headphones are faulty in some way; you can probably return them for a new pair.

I think Sony ZX600 is much better than Skullcandy Hesh 2.0.

Usually fashionable headphones sound worse than professional brands with long history.

Skullcandy Hesh 2.0 made a lot achivement I heard, and ppl say it is better than Sony, Yamaha or Audio Technika's low-end models but ZX600 is not a low-end model.

It may sound better than ZX100, but not a contest with ZX600.

I have Hesh original, not 2.0. It sounds nice but it's even worse than UltimateEars 300vi earphones despite of it is a headphone with 50mm driver.

Skull candy products have a life time guarantee. Simply send them back to the producers with a warranty and they will fix them, or send you a new pair. Unless you stole them.
