Value on a rifle depends on the caliber and condition. The S&W 1500 was manufactured in Japan by a company named Howa, and they are high quality rifles. Howa also made guns for Weatherby and Mossberg. In good used condition they are worth $300-$400.

Wolfe Publishing Co did a reprint of the booklet a few years ago, so make sure you have an original edition before deciding on a price.

In any of the S&W products the "-", i.e., 60-1, 586-3, 39-2, etc. what they reference is an engineering change.

In excellent condition, they can go for $350-$450 dollars. 3rd generation S&W autos are starting to gain a loyal following which is prompting the higher prices.

value has everything to do with condition of the firearm. if it functions well, which i bet it does since the 6906 is awesome and will eat any ammo in the world, then it comes down to aesthetics. if there is a lot of holster wear and dings and scrapes and scratches etc, youll be lucky to get 200 bucks on a trade in (275 personal sale) if it is in 80-90% condition, you could get 250-275 on trade in (325 personal) and if it is 95-100% aka almost brand new youll get 300-325 trade in or (400+ personal sale). if it is brand new, never fired, you could ask 500 and not feel bad. you also want to figure in 10-20 bucks per extra magazine.

The affected rifles bear serial numbers from one of the following series on the receiver. PN00010 â€" PN 87159, LS00001 â€" LS 05150, LS10001 â€" LS10309, B000001 â€" B028450, M000001 â€" M020422. The safety upgrade will replace the bolt sleeve to prevent misassembly of the bolt, which might occur on the affected rifles. Such misassembly might result in a hazardous condition in which the rifle can be accidentally discharged without the bolt being fully engaged, causing severe injury. These rifles were distributed by Smith & Wesson, O.F. Mossberg and Sons and Interarms. These rifles may bear the distributor trademark. If it is a semi-auto and made after 1957 it will be on the frame. I.E., Model 39 or Model 645-2. If by pistol you mean a revolver, you will have to open the cylinder and look in the recess where the crane/yoke rests.

Gun Parts In New York State in the 1980s purchased all the remaining S&W inventory but they have no firing pins(I am looking for one). Bob's down South has some and Wisner's out on the West Coast is making some reproduction parts but is out of Firing Pins

Model 18-2's were made from 1961-1967 The sn you list dates to 1973. You might want to recheck the sn.
