Does a batter get a RBI on a wild pitch?

Good question. The only thing that would be close to a WILD PITCH RBI would be if the batter swung at the pitch for a third strike, which of course the catcher couldn't catch. There would have to be a runner on third, and the batter would have to be safe at first on the dropped third strike rule. I do not believe that this would truly be an RBI though, because technically, a dropped third strike is like a walk, the batter is not credited with a hit.

How does the pitcher in softball pitch the ball?

Throwing a baseball overarm will usually make the ball move further than if one were to throw it sidearm. This is because the movement of the body is able to follow through with the motion more when the throw is overarm.

How fast do most 12 year old girls pitch?

In my opinion, 12 year old shouldn't pitch the ball fast. Hard but not fast! In other words, don't hold back but don't strain either. You have plenty of time to develop speed once your body is developed. Concentrate on good fielding and ball contact when batting and your set for huge future in fpsoftball. A glove is 10 times better than a bat or a pitch.

What size softball fast pitch bat should a 13 year old girl use?

Your bat should, if you put the end of the barrel on the ground next to you, come up right to where your hip is. That gives you perfect length to cover the plate for inside pitches and outside pitches. 32 inches long would be good for an average 15 year old. 22 ounces would be a good weight for an average 15 year old.

Who plays 2nd base when the ball goes to the left field?

When a ball is hit into left field it is the shortstop's job to act as a cutoff man while the second baseman covers second base and when the ball is hit to right field it is the second baseman's job to act as a cutoff unless the play is at home then the outfielder will throw to the first baseman as a middle man while the shortstop covers second base. Now if the ball is hit to center field then it is the shortstop's job to cutoff unless again the play is at home then the first baseman is the cutoff.

Does the run count if the the runner crosses home before the out is committed?

The run does not count if a runner crosses home plate during an inning-ending double (or triple) play, where the runners are all retired on force outs (as is the case in most double plays). Generally speaking, if the third out is recorded by a force out (including at first base), no runs can score on the play.

If the inning's third out was not recorded through a force play (whether or not it's the second or third out of that play), however, the run will count if the runner crossed the plate before the out was recorded. For example, on April 28, 2007, the Indians recorded a double play by catching a fly ball and catching the runner off first base. The runner from third base had already crossed the plate (after tagging up properly), so the run counted. In that case, the umpires actually got the rule wrong, and reversed themselves 3 innings later.
