Assuming you do well enough on that to get into medical school, (around top 30-35% or so) you must do well in medical school and take another test, USMLE Step 1 after year 2. Now, a lot of factors are involved in getting a neurosurgery residency. You class rank in medical school, your Step 1 scores, any research you have done, letters of recommendation, and your clincial grades during your 3rd year of medical school all matter. It also matters that you are in allopathic school. (M.D.) Yes, D.O's can be neurosurgeons, but it is much harder for them to get a residency in this competitive of a residency. The match results are way better for "U.S. allopathic seniors." Meaning in this country (not the carribean) and allopathic (not a D.O.)

So, by this time, you are 2 tests and at least 10+ years removed from the SAT. Nobody cares about your MCAT score when applying for a neurosurgery residency, let alone your high school SAT score.

After completing your school you will require another 12 to 13 years to train as a Neuro surgeon

Your partial plate needs to be adjusted by your dentist. I also wear a partial plate and the metal part that fits on the roof of your mouth should JUST come behind the hollow of the roof of your mouth. Feel the roof of your mouth with your tongue, and if the metal plate is over-lapping behind that hollow it is too long. Also, if you have gone without partials in the upper, lower or both for sometimes your tongue will spread, so when you get new partials it has a tendency to push the tongue back in place causing a gagging relex. This will go away as you adjust to your new partials. Please discuss all this with your dentist as something can be done about it to make you more comfortable. Good luck Marcy
