Is a swan a natural enemy of geese?
Yes, many species of ducks and geese will feed in the same areas, such as rice fields or marshes. In domestic areas, they may not spend time together, but I don't think they'll injure each other.
If on land, swans will most likely try to escape into the water or into the sky. However, if it is a nesting swan, they will attack viciously with their beaks. Many kids poking around nests have had serious damage done to their face by the beaks, for the birds are unrelenting in protection of their offspring.
Trumpeter Swan-Life Span of a Trumpeter Swan?
Okay. The male swan and female swan have different life spans. The male can live up to be 35 years as a female can live up to be (rarely ever 30) 25-28. This is due to many things I won't answer but you can research. I am doing a project so I hope many other people will have as much fun learning about the trumpeter swan as me.

When do swans lose their feathers?
Swans typically molt their feathers once a year, usually in late summer to early fall. During this time, they lose their old feathers and grow new ones, which can take several weeks. The timing of molting can vary slightly depending on the species and environmental conditions. Interestingly, swans are flightless during the molting period because they lose their flight feathers all at once.
What are the visual differences between and male and female swans?
The male swan has a penis, the female does not.
Birds don't have penises. They use cloacae, like reptiles, the entrances of which are pressed close together when mating.

Wild ducklings eat mostly insects, algae and grain. Soggy bread and crackers aren't healthy for them. They will also like finely chopped strawberries and apple or romaine lettuce. Make sure it's small enough for them to swallow.
You can also buy chick or duck starter (non-medicated) or duck feed pellets that are small enough for them to eat.

The Black swan is native to Australia. It has also been introduced to New Zealand. Although it is the avian emblem of Western Australia, it is found throughout Australia, except for the desert interior and Cape York Peninsula.
Swans usually mate in there mateing season. Wich comes around the time of march.
Ducks can drown or look like they are drowning when they are mating or - the obvious answer - fighting.
Male ducks ( Drakes) will fight each other for mates and if you observe them will sometimes try and mate with a female in water..this looks like he is drowning her.
Female ducks will sometimes (I have seen this with my own eyes) try to drown another duck's ducklings. This is a horrible sight. The cause of these 'killings' is the natural instinct to survive. The mothers both want their ducklings to have the best chance of survival.
I hope this has helped you!
