Currently Bundy is in no stage of development or anything else. He was executed January 24, 1989. While he was alive, though, he had relatively no moral development at all. As is true of many people with APD (anti-social personality disorder) they don't possess a conscience which means they are completely devoid of any moral issue.

Bundy's last murder victim was Kimberly Leach, 12 years old. Although Bundy had multiple death sentences, it was the Leach murder that actually sent him to the electric chair.

The crimes of Ted Bundy were instrumental in modern serial killer procedures and protocol. He gave America, specifically, and the world, generally, an up-close look at this one-time rarity, serial killers. Since Bundy there have been countless others, more prolific and deadly, but rarely one as charismatic and mesmerizing. Like it or not, Bundy has become America's poster child of serial murder.

Ted Bundy usually strangled his victim then raped the body. He would also beat them to death and some victims had sharp cut in them. His teeth proved to be the best evidence in the Bundy's case as he bit his victims.

Victim selection is somewhat of a mystery, many times even to the killer himself. Many serial killers choose victims that fit a certain physical criteria that appeals to the killer. Ted Bundy's victims had obvious similarites, dark hair parted in the middle, and of college age (usually). Dr. Helen Morrison, in her book My Life Among The Serial Killers, put forth an interesting theory. She feels that some victim selection may be similar to the physical attraction that happens between two people as they meet and fall in love. The 'spark' of some kind of chemical and/or physical reaction when people are attacted to each other romatically. It seems like a sound theory.

Footnote:The exception to the above victims is Kimberly Leach, the 12 year old who had the misfortune of being Bundy's last kill. It also should be noted that Ann Marie Burr, a young girl living in Tacoma, WA, is believed by many to be Bundy's first victim. The Burr's home was in the direct path of 14 year old Bundy's paper route. Ann Marie was abducted from her bedroom in 1963. Her body was never found, no arrests have been made. Bundy denied he killed her even as he was escorted to Florida's electric chair.

Bundy declined the traditional last meal so was given regular prison food which consisted of steak (medium rare), eggs (over easy), hash browns, toast, milk, coffee, juice, butter, and jelly. He didn't eat any of it.

Ted Bundy has been described as the most notorious serial killer of young women in the 1980's and has woken up the fear in most families that serial killers do exist, and can be found in any community. Most people who contemplate the personality of a serial killer are stunned by the grace and manipulation that Ted Bundy portrayed leading his victims to death. It has been revealed in documentation and research- that Ted Bundy suffered abuse as a child from near-by relatives such as an Uncle and his parents.

It is true that a man that defends himself has a fool for a client but Ted Bundy was so confident and egotistical he did not see the danger he was in. I think the major thrust of his own defense was mistaken identity. But even he could not explain the trail of dead bodies left in his wake.

When Ted began his operations, women began disappearing from college campuses around Washington and Oregon and then Utah. Lynda Ann Healy, a 21-year-old radio announcer, was among those who were missing but she is not in the record. There were eleven in Washington (including Parks, abducted in Oregon but killed in Washington), three of them unidentified. The record doesn't support a first victim killed by him.

Crime writer Ann Rule knows the case of Ted Bundy, and knew Bundy on a personal level. But she is a very busy lady and it may be hard to get an interview.

Ann Marie Burr was eight years old at the time of her disappearance on August 30, 1961. Many feel it is too much of a coincidence that the Burr's home in Tacoma WA crossed paths with a 14 year old paperboy named Ted Bundy. Bundy denied it, Bundy's mother denied it, and even the Burr's had doubts that Bundy was responsible. Here are the facts related to Burr's abduction.

Just hours before Bundy died in Florida's electric chair former Seattle policeman Robert Keppel interviewed Bundy in the hope that he would disclose more gravesites and possibly clear up cold cases. Bundy explained to Keppel that there are some murders that a serial killer would never admit. Murders committed at a young age. Murder of a young child. A murder that took place close to the killer's home. All three apply to the Burr case.

When Keppel asked Bundy about Burr he abruptly brought the interview to an end.

Bundy was in fact questioned within the first days after the disappearance by police and was very evasive and uncomfortable. Lack of evidence left police with little choice but to release Bundy.

Ann's mother found the door and window in the livingroom wide open, below the window was a footprint made by a sneaker. The imprint was small and for a time police thought perhaps the abductor may have been Asian, who are usually smaller in size than Caucasions.

Ann's father drove through the entire neighborhood hoping to find his daughter. He saw a boy standing by a ditch a few blocks from the Burr house. He later identified the boy as Ted Bundy after police showed him Bundy's picture.

The Burr family stayed in the house where they lived at the time of Ann's disappearance for six years. Reluctant to change addresses in case Ann would someday come back. Mrs. Burr died in 2008, her husband years before her. She never stopped hoping that she would some day see her daughter again. Chances are good that the mystery of Ann Marie's disappearance will never be resolved. I believe that there are cold case detectives working on the case at present. The best chance of resolution was lost forever in January 1989 when Bundy paid the ultimate price for his crimes, a date with the electric chair.

I think that sums it up pretty well. Never one to shun the spotlight, Bundy got an additional 15 minutes of fame with the pretense of helping detectives find the Green River Killer.

Bundy was into power and control. Even with his death only hours away he just had to keep something back. It was his way of getting the last word.

Ted was a person that needed medical attention since his early days. Instead, he thought he was a smart person. When he was caught by a stupid mistake by overspeeding, he defended himself in court, which is a stupid thing to do, but anyways he really thought he was smart and never declared a crazy brain.
