There is a message hidden in every 39 Clues book. The message in Book 8 says "Madrigals are behind everything. They lay out the path the others will walk. The end is coming."

Everyone has to buy the book - or you can send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the address given in the "Help" section of the website (www.the39clues.com). They will send you the cards for Book 1.

Agent card codes are free, however, and you can create your own agent card, and share your agent card codes with your friends.

The only card that has a reusable code is the Surveillance Camera card (card #1) that comes with The 39 Clues Book 1: The Maze of Bones.

Other codes can only be used once. If the card code has already been entered in your gallery or another player's gallery, it won't work for your gallery.
