How many times is singing mentioned in the book of Mormon?
Singing is mentioned in 30 verses of the Book of Mormon.
When the Spirit is mentioned in the Book of Mormon to what Spirit does it reference?
In the Book of Mormon, the "Spirit" is the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost, one of the three members of the Godhead (along with God the Father and Jesus Christ). Generally, the Book of Mormon will use the titles "Spirit of the Lord" or "Spirit of God".
The Book of Mormon also references the "Great Spirit", which is the name used by some Lamanites when talking about God, a tradition which most of them were unfamiliar with.
When the word "spirit" is not capitalized, it may be referring to the spirit or soul of an individual or to one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit (ie 'the spirit of prophesy' or 'the spirit of wisdom'.) Occassionally it is also used in a more general way about the overal attitude of a group of people (ie 'they had the spirit of judgement').
How many verses in the Book of Mormon talk of Jesus Christ?
"Jesus Christ" is mentioned 64 times
"Jesus" (not followed by "Christ") is mentioned 116 times
"Christ" (without "Jesus") is mentioned 302 times
Please note that Jesus Christ is mentioned hundreds if not thousands of times in the Book of Mormon by other names, such as "Messiah", "Son of God", "Redeemer", "Lord", "Lamb of God" and "Jehovah". I didn't count any of those.
In a broader sense, every verse in the Book of Mormon is about Jesus Christ, since the entire book is meant to be "Another Witness of Jesus Christ". The Book of Mormon is a testimony of the faithfulness of God and the divinity and necessity of Jesus Christ as our Savior.
Is the book of Mormon nonfiction or fiction?
That all depends on your opinion. Mormons believe that the Book of Mormon is a true account - nonfiction. Others believe that the Book of Mormon is a made up story - fiction.
The Book of Mormon itself directs readers to read the book with an open mind and then ask God if it is true. This is found in Moroni 10:4, which says, "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost."

How did the Mormons get the Book of Mormon?
The Book of Mormon is a book of scripture similar to the Bible. It is a record of the ancient inhabitants of the American continent, just as the Bible is a record of the ancient inhabitants of Israel and the surrounding area. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) use the Book of Mormon alongside the Bible as "another testament of Jesus Christ."
In September 1823, Joseph Smith, then 17, was praying in his bedroom. Three years previous he had been visited by God the Father and Jesus Christ in a grove near his home, where they had told him that all the churches of the day did not teach the full truth of the Gospel. This time, an angel named Moroni came and informed him that God had a work for him to do. Moroni also told him about a record written on metal plates. The plates were deposited in a nearby hill and contained the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Joseph then received a vision of the place where the record was buried.
The next day, Joseph went to the hill and recognized the place where the record was buried. Moroni appeared again and explained that Joseph would have to return each year on the same day for three years to receive instruction. Joseph did so, and returning on September 21, 1827, he received the record and was able to bring it home.
Joseph Smith translated the record into English from the ancient tongue by the gift and power of God. He named it 'The Book of Mormon' after the man who compiled the record, Mormon. The book was published in the early months of 1830, and the first official worship service of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was held that spring.

What is halfway through the book of Mormon?
The actual scriptural text of the current English-language Book of Mormon is 531 pages, meaning halfway through the Book of Mormon is page 265. Page 265 is Alma Chapter 22 verses 18-27. This particular page describes the conversion of the King (Lamoni's father) and his whole householdby Aaron.
If you include the other pages in the current English-language Book of Mormon, including the index, title pages, pictures, introduction, etc, there are 806 pages. This would mean the 403rd page is the middle point (page 381 in the text, since the first 22 pages are not numbered). Page 381 is Helaman Chapter 6 verses 1-12. This page describes righteous Lamanites preaching to unrighteous Nephites and prosperity and peace among both groups.
If you are referring to half-way chronologically, the Book of Mormon covers the period of approximately 600 BC to 400 AD, so halfway would be about 100 BC. The chapters of Mosiah 25-29 cover this time period (120-92 BC). These chapters describe the leadership of Alma and Mosiah, the conversion of their sons, and the beginning of their son's missions and ministry.
What is the Planet Kolob to Mormons?
Kolob is mentioned in five verses of Mormon scripture, all in the book of Abraham. These verses are Abraham 3:3, 3:4, 3:9, 3:16 and 5:13. These verses say that Kolob is the greatest star, and is 'nearest to the throne of God'. Kolob follows God's time (1000 years as a single day, according to 2 Peter 3:8).
Kolob is rarely brought up in worship services or doctrinal discussions both because very little is known about it, and because it has no bearing on one's salvation. The hymnbook used by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the mainstream Mormon church) contains one hymn about Kolob which is not often sung. You can see that hymn along with all the scripture verses about Kolob at the "Related Links" below.

Compare the Arabic word Qalb (also anglicized Qolob and Kolob). A star in the Ursa Minor constellation, just barely the second brightest, and appropriately the Beta, star in Ursa Minor, it represents the top front bowl star of the Little Dipper. Just a bit of trivia some might find interesting.

How many times do Mormon pray?
There is no set number of times that members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) pray. Most Mormons will pray at least morning and night, either alone or with family. They also usually pray before meals. Mormons believe they can pray anytime, anywhere, and it is common for them to stop and give a short prayer of thanks when something nice has happened, or pray for comfort or blessing when they feel they or a loved one are in need. The Bible says to 'pray always', so many Mormons try to keep an attitude of prayer throughout the day.
During church meetings, it is customary to hold an opening and closing prayer for each meeting, as well as two prayers for the 'sacrament' (communion) - So a Mormon attending church on Sunday will pray at least 8 times over the course of their three hour church service.

Yes. Elvis Presley did in fact read the Book of Mormon. He had many friends that were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) who introduced him to the book, including Ed Parker, Cricket Butler, and the Osmond Family. Elvis studied many religions near the end of his life and had a fascination with many of them, including Mormonism.

Where did the book of Mormon take place?
Essentially, all that can be proved is that the Book of Mormon took place somewhere that was across a large body of water from the Middle East. From descriptions of lands in the Book of Mormon, most everyone deduces that it takes place in the Americas, with the "narrow neck of land" mentioned being near where the Panema canal is. Joseph Smith described the Native American Indians (of North, Central, and South America) as being descendants of the Book of Mormon peoples.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, by far the largest denomination professing belief in the Book of Mormon, has never produced an official statement or map regarding where the Book of Mormon took place.
Individual people and scholars have come up with several maps, which you can see at the "Related Links" below.
What is the 1st Nephi book about in the Book of Mormon?
The book of First Nephi in the Book of Mormon focuses on the family of the prophet Lehi. Lehi was a prophet in Jerusalem at about the time of Jeremiah in the Old Testament (around 600 B.C.). Lehi is told in a dream that he must get his family and flee Jerusalem because it will be destroyed. He, his wife Sariah, and their four sons Laman, Lemuel, Sam, and Nephi travel to the wilderness.
Lehi sends his sons back into Jerusalem to retrieve a copy of the brass plates, which was their scripture and contained the books of the Old Testament written at that point as well as the writings of a few other prophets. In doing so, the wicked man who owned the plates, Laban, robbed them of their wealth and sent his guards to kill them. Nephi went back into the city at night, was told by God to kill Laban, and wore Laban's clothing in order to get into the treasury and get the plates. After returning to their father, Lehi asks that the sons return again to retrieve the family of Ishamel so that their children might intermarry. They do so, and Ishmael's daughters marry Lehi's sons.
While in the wilderness, several things happen. Nephi is bound with cords by his brothers but is freed by the power of God. Lehi receives a vision of the tree of life, which has become quite important in LDS theology. Lehi and Nephi prophesy of Jesus Christ and various things that will happen to the house of Israel.
The families travel through the wilderness, lead by a sort of compass, called the "Liahona", which works if they obey the commandments of God and leads them in circles if they are not obedient. Sariah bears two sons as they travel, Jacob and Joseph. The recently married couples also begin to bear children. Ishamel dies and is buried. Laman and Lemuel, the oldest sons, are unrighteous and often complain and threaten to harm various members of the family. Sam and Nephi, the younger brothers, are righteous and obey the commandments of God to build a ship once they reach the ocean.
With the ship built, the families board and trust that God will take the ship to a "Promised Land" where they will be preserved from the destruction of Jerusalem and the scattering of Israel. While on the ship, the wicked sons and their wives tie Nephi up and do not allow the others to assist him. A huge storm comes up and threatens to destroy the ship and the family until the older brothers finally agree to untie Nephi, who calms the storm.
Near the end of the book, the family arrives in the Promised Land, which modern scholars place somewhere in South America. While there Nephi makes the new set of plates which becomes The Book of Mormon, and begins to quote and explain several chapters of Isaiah.

How many syllables are in the Book of Mormon?
This is pretty much impossible to answer. The English version of the Book of Mormon is over 500 pages, so you can imagine how many words that is! Plus, there are some things that you may or may not include in a syllable count. For example, would you include the syllables in things such as "Chapter 23"? How about the syllables of the verse numbers? The syllables in the words in the footnotes? What about the introduction or title page?
Does the book of Revelation agree or disagree with The Book of Mormon?
This is almost an impossible question to answer because the two books cannot be equally compared. It isn't an "apples to apples" comparison.
Most scholars agree that John wrote the Book of Revelation sometime between the year 60 and 90 A.D. The Book of Mormon was mostly written between the years 600 B.C. and 400 A.D. The writers of the Book of Mormon never saw the Book of Revelation and John the Revelator probably didn't even know of the existence of the Book of Mormon peoples.
The Book of Mormon authors did, however, know of the existence of John the Revelator and his revelation even before John was born. The Book of Revelation is mentioned twice in the Book of Mormon, in 1 Nephi 14:18-27 (written in 600 B.C.), and in Ether 4:16 (written by Moroni in about 400 A.D.) and John the Revelator is mentioned once in 3 Nephi 28:6 (written in 35 A.D.) [links to read these verses online are provided below under "Related Links"]
The Book of Revelation and the Book of Mormon don't particularly agree or disagree with one another because they don't really mention many of the same things. However, if you believe the Book of Mormon is true, you will also believe the Book of Revelation is true. They do not conflict each other, and the Book of Mormon supports a belief in the Book of Revelation.
How many times does it say wo in the Book of Mormon?
the word wo is used in 78 verses of the book of mormon.
Why were the hidden tablets relevant to the founding of Mormonism?
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) believe that an ancient American prophet named Moroni buried the scriptural and historic record of his people, written on metal tablets, in about the year 300 AD. In the 1820's, Moroni (as an angel) lead the young Joseph Smith to the place where these tablets were buried and instructed him on how to translate and publish them. The translation was published in 1830 as "The Book of Mormon".
The Book of Mormon is one of the central focal points of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has been described as the "Keystone" of Mormonism. If the Book of Mormon is not true, every claim of Mormonism would be false. If the Book of Mormon is true, than every claim of Mormonism is true. This is because the Book of Mormon proves the prophetic calling of Joseph Smith and thus substantiates every single thing he did and taught as he founded the Church. Without the Book of Mormon, there would be no Mormonism; and without Mormonism, there would be no Book of Mormon.
How do you read the book of Mormon in 1 year?

To read the Book of Mormon in a year, you will need to read approximately 1 1/2 pages each day, or 10 pages a week.
