As long as it does well.

What year did the book of Mormon add the words another testament of Jesus Christ?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints added the subtitle "Another Testament of Jesus Christ" to the Book of Mormon in 1982 in order to clarify and emphasize the purpose of the Book of Mormon. All copies of the Book of Mormon published by this church today carry this subtitle. Other denominations in the Mormonism movement that publish their own editions of the Book of Mormon, as well as private and commercial printings, generally do not include the subtitle.

Who was made dark skin in the book of Mormon?

The Lamanites were made to have dark skin in the Book of Mormon.

The above is the quick answer. A more complete answer will include who the lamanites descended from. According to the Book of Mormon, Lehi was a Prophet of God, much like Isaiah of the Old Testament. After calling the people of Jerusalem to repentance (about 600 years before Jesus was born). Most of the people did not believe him, or any of the other Biblical prophets of that general time period. Once Lehi had finished his assignment from God in Jerusalem, he was asked to leave the city, or he would be killed by the people. He took his family and left.

Long story short, he and his family were lead to the Americas. By the time he died, Lehi has several children. The males were named Laman, Lemuel, Nephi, Sam, Jacob & Joseph. Lehi’s descendents had many children and they eventually started settling with their families. But some of those families started not getting along with some of the others and eventually conditions got so bad that a separation occurred with some moving more North. The descendents of Laman and Lemuel (and some others, stayed behind, while the descendents of Nephi, Sam, Jacob, Joseph and others moved northward.

Because the descendents of Laman and Lemuel eventually became so wicked, the Lord gave them a curse of a darkened skin. No details of how this happened are given in the Book of Mormon, but through the centuries, anyone being associated with the Lamanites (named after Laman) also became dark skinned. Some Lamanites eventually became righteous while others did not. And, some of the Nephites, who remained light skinned (and were named after Nephi), became wicked, joined with the Lamanites and eventually also became dark skinned. This can be a bit confusing without reading the entire story, but all who remained wicked were eventually called Lamanites.

Though not really discussed in the Book of Mormon, it seems likely others coming to the Americas by other means, would have intermarried with these Book of Mormon peoples. And, therefore, a darker skin may have carried over into the entire population living in the Americas when Columbus arrived.

What do the Mormon tablets say?

Joseph Smith, Jr. claimed to have been lead to buried ancient metal tablets by an angel. Joseph then translated these tablets and returned them to the angel. The translation of the tablets was published as The Book of Mormon. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) use the Book of Mormon as scripture along with the Bible.

The Book of Mormon tells the story of a group of people who left Jerusalem around the time of Jeremiah, having been warned of God of the coming Babylonian Captivity. God lead the group through the wilderness and across the ocean to the Americas. The Book of Mormon tells of their history, prophets, and religion between 600 BC and 400 AD, including a visit of Jesus Christ following His Ascension.

How many years was the Bible written before the Book of Mormon?

A:According to Joseph Smith , the Book of Mormon was delivered to him by the resurrected Moroni in 1827. Mormons believe the book was written over a period of centuries, from before 600 BCE to around 421 CE. It is said to have been translated with Moroni's help, from the original Hebrew into seventeenth century English, more or less consistent with the King James Version of the Bible.

If we accept literally the Mormon claim, then much of the Book of Mormon was written concurrently with the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, although the latter parts were written up to three hundred years later.

If we accept the scholarly view, based on clues within the Book of Mormon, it was probably actually written around 1827, some seventeen centuries after the Bible was completed.

Did the Book of Mormon plagiarize the KJV Bible?

No. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) use the KJV Bible as well as the Book of Mormon, so there is no use in copying the Bible into the Book of Mormon. There are a few quotes from the Old Testament in the Book of Mormon, most of them from Isaiah. These do not count as plagiarism, however, as it is clearly stated that they are quotes. Plagiarism is when you try to pass someone else's work off as your own, not when you quote someone else.

How many times does the phrase it came to pass appear in the Book of Mormon?

What is the last date the original cast will be in the book of Mormon?

As long as the show goes on or any actor resign from the show. The play is going fabulous and i don't think they need to change the cast.

Does the book of Mormon reference the resurrection of Jesus?

Yes! The Book of Mormon references the resurrection of Jesus Christ long before the event actually took place.

In 2 Nephi chapter 9 (estimated to be written in 559 BC) we learn that it has been the plan of God from the beginning that there should be a resurrection brought about by the atonement of a Savior, who is Jesus Christ.

In Jacob chapter 4 (estimated to be written in 544 BC), the atonement and resurrection of Jesus Christ is also mentioned.

In the book of Mosiah, chapter 15 (estimated to be written in 148 BC) the doctrine of resurrection is discussed. Here, we learn that Jesus Christ will break the bonds of death, that He will be resurrected, and that through Him all others will be resurrected. Jesus' resurrection is also discussed in chapter 18.

In Alma chapter 40 (estimated to be written in 74 BC), the doctrine of resurrection and the event of Christ's resurrection is discussed in further detail.

Helaman chapter 14 (estimated to be written in 6 BC) teaches that "the resurrection of Christ redeemeth mankind." and foretells what those on the American continent will experience at the time of Christ's death and resurrection.

The 3 Nephi tells of the events that occurred in the Americas at the time of Jesus Christ's death and resurrection, but does not repeat the Bible story of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It describes a period of three days darkness taking place during the time Christ was in the tomb, and tells the story of the resurrected Christ visiting the Book of Mormon peoples several months after His resurrection.

The later books of Mormon and Moroni, written a few hundred years after the life of Christ, remind us that we should have hope in the power of the resurrection of Christ.

What book in the Book Of Mormon talks about the War in Heaven?

The Book of Mormon never mentions a war in heaven. The War in Heaven is mentioned in the Bible in Revelation 12, Isaiah 14, and Luke 10. It is more specifically detailed in the Pearl of Great Price, in Moses 4 and Abraham 3.

Where is now the Golden Plates that Joseph translated as the Book of Mormon?

According to Mormon scripture, the plates ascended into heaven after the translation by Joseph Smith.

However the Bible states in Revelation 22:18 that "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book." this tell us that the book of morman could not possibly be true and that John Smith made this up he also "found" the book of Abraham which contradicts not only the bible but the book of Mormon the bible tells us that poligamy is wrong and the book of Mormon tells us its fine tomany contradictions and john couldn't keep track of all his lies ......also does any one find it funny that moroni the angel that "revealed"this to him is so close to moron.

Reply to the genius "scriptorian" that wrote the above: Deuteronomy 4:2 says "Ye shall not add to the word which I give you, and ye shall not take away." Does this mean everything after Deuteronomy 4:2 is null? Also, if you are going to use a scripture from the Bible keep in mind that the Bible is not a single book, but a collection of books not necessarily in chronological order. For example, the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) were actually written years after the crucifixion. The book of Revelation, although it is at the end of the Bible, was written before many of the Epistles. You need to do a little research before you start spouting false information. Also, it was Joseph not John Smith.

Where exactly does the Bible tell us polygamy is wrong? You obviously haven't read about Solomon's 700 wives and 300 concubines. Furthermore, what does that have to do with the golden plates anyway? The Bible contains many contradictions as well, but that doesn't mean it isn't the word of God. Just do a Google search for Bible contradictions.

Why is the Mormon bible unaccepted?

The Bible used by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) is the King James Version of the Bible. This Bible could not be described as unaccepted and in fact has been the most popular and commonly accepted Bible version since it was first published over 400 years ago in 1611.

You are probably thinking of the Book of Mormon. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and other denominations in the Mormonism movement use the Book of Mormon as an additional book of scripture. The Book of Mormon is another witness of Jesus Christ and describes the faith and practices of Israelite and Christian believers on the American continents during approximately the same time period as the Bible.

As for why the Book of Mormon is generally unaccepted by those outside of Mormonism, there are several reasons:

First - people just don't know about it. Mormonism is still a relatively small religious movement, especially outside of the United States.

Second - people are unwilling to read it. This may be in fear of the unknown or in fear of what it might mean if they discover that it is true. Or perhaps people just might believe when others tell them the Book of Mormon is false.

Third - allegiance to the Bible or to one's current faith. Some who claim strict allegiance to the Bible are unwilling to accept the possibility of other sacred writings. Or, perhaps they feel a loyalty to their current faith and therefore are not interested in exploring the beliefs of another.

Fourth - prophecy. The Book of Mormon itself states that few will accept it's message, which will largely be due to people who have hardened their hearts and are unwilling to change and to rumors which will be spread about it.

How many times is the promise keep my commandments and ye shall prosper in the land used in the Book of Mormon?

I counted 100 instances of the word "Promise" (and variations such as 'promised' and 'promises') in the Book of Mormon. Most of the time this was linked with "promised land" or "land of promise".

The phrase "keep my commandments" is used 25 times in the Book of Mormon.

The phrase "ye shall prosper in the land" is used 10 times in the Book of Mormon. Each one of these instances is in the same verse as a variation of the phrase 'keep my commandments' or 'keep the commandments'.

Do you believe in the Holy Bible more so than your Mormon Bible?

The "Mormon" Bible IS the Holy Bible. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) use the King James Bible as their Bible and consider it to be the Word of God. The King James Bible has always been used as the official Bible translation of the Church.

Mormons also believe the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price are scripture, and that these books are of equal truth and importance as the Bible.

Does Mormonism teach that Jesus Christ is a Triune God or does it teach that He is distinct from the Father and the Holy Spirit?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) teaches that God the Father, Jesus Christ (the Son of God), and the Holy Spirit are three distinctly seperate beings united perfectly in purpose. Mormons believe that the doctrine of the Trinity is unbiblical, and that it came into Christianity with the creation of the Nicene creed in 325 A.D. - after the general apostasy of Christendom.

What two religions have scripture from Gold Tablets delivered by an angel?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) believes that the Book of Mormon was written on golden colored (although not necessarily the metal gold) plates, delivered to the prophet Joseph Smith by the Angel Moroni. Joseph Smith then translated the plates by the power of God and published the writings as The Book of Mormon. Mormons use the Book of Mormon side-by-side with the Bible.

Other religious groups which have broken off from the Mormon Church, such as the Community of Christ and the Apostolic United Brethren also use the Book of Mormon as scripture.

What is the total number of Nephites who wrote the book of Mormon?

Well, it's hard to say exactly because much of the Book of Mormon was abridged by Mormon and Moroni and they did not list the original authors.

The only part of the Book of Mormon not written by Nephites is the Book of Ether, which was abridged by Ether, a Jaredite, then translated by Mosiah and abridged again by Moroni, both Nephites.

Here's a breakdown of the Nephites who we know wrote in the Book of Mormon and whether or not we read their direct words or if it is an abridgement by Mormon or Moroni:

Abinadom - Direct writings in Omni 1:10-11

Alma the Elder - Wrote the teachings of Abinadi in Mosiah 12-17, King Limhi in Mosiah 18-22, his own writing in Mosiah 23 and 24. All abridged by Mormon.

Alma the Younger - Writings abridged by Mormon in the Book of Alma

Amaleki - Direct writings in Omni 1:12-30

Amaron - Direct writings in Omni 1: 4-8

Amos I - Writings abridged by Mormon in 4 Nephi

Amos II - Writings abridged by Mormon in 4 Nephi 1:21-46

Benjamin - Writings abridged by Mormon in Book of Mosiah

Chemish - Direct writings in Omni 1:9

Enos - Direct writings in the Book of Enos

Helaman I - Writings abridged by Mormon in Alma Chapters 31 - 63

Helaman II - Writings abridged by Mormon in first part of Book of Helaman

Jacob - Direct writings in the Book of Jacob

Jarom - Direct writings in the Book of Jarom

Mormon - Direct writing in Words of Mormon and Book of Mormon. Abridged Mosiah, Alma, Helaman, 3 and 4 Nephi

Moroni - Direct writing in Book of Moroni, abridged Ether.

Mosiah - Writings abridged by Mormon in Mosiah

Nephi (son of Lehi) - Direct writings in 1 and 2 Nephi (also quotes Lehi, Isaiah, and other prophets)

Nephi (son of Helaman) - Writings abridged by Mormon in the later part of Book of Helaman

Nephi (grandson of Helaman) - Writings abridged by Mormon in 3 Nephi

Omni - Direct writings in Omni 1:1-3

Shiblon - Writings abridged by Mormon in Alma 31 - 38

Zeniff - Writings abridged by Mormon in Mosiah 9-11

So, we have the direct writings of 11 Nephites and the abridged writings of 12 more Nephites. That's 23 Nephites (that we know of) that wrote the Book of Mormon.
