There is onomatopoeia on pg. 9 stating "And Bruno liked nothing better than to get on board the banister at the top floor and slide his way through the house, making whooshing sounds as he went."

Personification on pg. 15 "Bruno had a pain in his stomach, and he could feel something growing inside him."

Simile on pg. 31 "someone who knew that growing flowers in a place like this was something good that they could do, like putting a tiny candle of light in the corner of a huge castle on a misty moor on a dark winters night."

Simile on pg. 43 "As they left they stood in a row together like toy soldiers."

No there is no different ending to the one in the movie it's just different in the book they find the clothes after the kid dies but in the movie the find the clothes when the kid is in the gas chamber and is about to die while his dad is looking for his son Bruno in the camp. too bad he diden't check the gas chamber :(

Yes, because it said that he was there before Bruno went to bed and left after Bruno woke up. Also, when Bruno was talking to Kolter his mother came in and said " Kurt precious, I have some free time later..." and then when she sees Bruno she says "Oh. Bruno, I didnt see you there?

Also it mentions that mother laughs more at Lieutenant Kotler then she ever does at his father. So there must be something going on between them.

But, okay, here's the deal - when Bruno's mom says they're moving for his dad's job, but they don't really talk about what his dad does, it's like a big neon sign flashing, "Hey, pay attention, something shady's going on here!" When Bruno and Gretel look out their window in The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, they see Jewish prisoners following orders inside the Auschwitz concentration camp.

Bruno, son of the Commandant, is friends with Shmuel, a Jew on the other side of the fence.

Gretel is your typical German in Hitler Youth at the time. She thinks she's better and smarter than her brother, and when they move to Out-With, she is more mature.

Maria defended father because when Maria's mother died and she was homeless, he took her in and gave her a job.

Because it is a concentration camp. Bruno's father is head of this camp and had to move close to it, to make sure everything was running the way it was suppose to be. This explains why they were so close to it. Concentration camps were a brutal place. It was basically a slaughter house, and it was pointless in trying to make it look appealing to the eye when the things going on inside the fence could scar you forever.

Bruno has a better relationship with his mother then his father, Bruno is clearly fairly close as he asks most of his questions to his mother. His father is working at the camp so his mother is one only people he can talk to.

I think thats what jews wore when in concertration camps. In the book Bruno asks this question and schmuel replies with "its what they gave us, the soldiers took our clothes and belongings away from us and replaced it with these"

Lieutenant Kurt Kotler. He is sent to a different camp by the commandant for unknown reasons (although some speculate he was having an affair with the commandant's wife).
