President Snow had to get rid of people in order to become the president. He did this by putting poison in their drinks, a kind that was so deadly it would make your mouth bleed just to drink it. One day, he had to prove to someone that it wasn't poisoned, and he did this by putting it in his mouth, and not swallowing. He spit it out as soon as he could, but it still make his mouth bleed so much he couldn't stand it. This is why he wears such strongly manufactured and scented roses-to stench the smell of blood from his mouth.

the first avox katniss encounters is a redhead that katniss saw in the forest with gale long ago. she and a boy behind her seemed to be running from someone. the people killed the boy and turned the girl into a avox.

In The Hunger Games, the better interview means the more sponsors you will have. Your sponsors send you food, water, medicine, etc. while you're in the arena, and sometimes those things can save your life.

The bloodbath is a nickname the fight at the start of the games are give.

For example; Most tributes will run and try to get a weapon, supplies, water, food, etc and this is where the careers come in. The careers are from D1, D2 and D4 and are the strongest of the tributes as they've been trained illegally in their district from a young age, yet they get away with it. The careers will most often all become allies and pick of tribute by tribute and then when the careers are the last ones left, turn on each other which makes a great fight. At the bloodbath the careers will race in, grab their preferred weapons and take anyone out that ran towards the cornucopia, then the careers will gather the supplies and make a base camp.

It is called the bloodbath because the careers usually kill around half of the tributes.

Hunger Games vocab words are spile, vantage, leery, precarious, vexed, plumage, marred, slake, conjure, pallor, contortions, detoxify, trajectory, divulge, wrest, obsolete, equidistant and many more but there are so much that I can't get them all to fit on here.

if katniss shoots cato to kill him, cato will take peeta with him into the mutts below. in response to this, peeta has katniss shoot cato's hand.

You might be talking about why Cato hates Katniss if so its because Katniss and Peeta took the croward away from them when they road in on their charriots at the begining when Katniss gets her name "The girl on fire"

Katniss is telling the story in first person

The hallucinations that Katniss experiences in The Hunger Games are from the tracker jackers. Katniss only gets stung, I think three times, but the sting is deadly, and causes wild hallucinations, and in extreme cases, death.

Katniss Everdeen is from district 12, which is the coal mining district.

He sends her burn medicine because when trying to run away from a wildfire, Katniss got burned on her leg and after seeing how much pain she was in, he got sponsors to provide the money for the expensive burn medicine that healed Katniss's wound overnight

She can't really sort out her feelings for Peeta, but she surely has some feelings of love for him. He has REALLY TRUELY loved her from the start and is upset when she tells him it was only a game. Then, when they hijack him, they totally upset the memories!

It dosnt say her excact stradagy in the 74th game. Her first goal is to get bows and arrows (or so we think, because Gale tells her to.). That dosnt work out right away so she trys to stay in alive. She hides in trees so wild animals and other tributes dont see her. To summarize it she tries to hide/stay alive untill she can find a weapon. if you ment her display to the audience: be herself

In the 75th she only tries to keep Peeta alive.

Haymitch calls Katniss sweetheart in The Hunger Games.

Haymicth always calls Katniss a sweetheart. Most of the time he means it in a sarcastic way.

Haymitch drinks because he has survive the hunger games and is traumatized. Wouldn't you be traumatized if you saw a girl being killed by an axe? He drinks to forget this experiences, but coaching the tributes doesn't help, so he constantly needs to drink to try to eliminate those memories.

Katniss Everdeen goes hunting with her friend Gale and they talk about the "Reaping" to happen later that day. When she goes home she fixes dinner for her family and they go to the Reaping. Primrose Everdeen - Katniss's little sister - is chosen to enter The Hunger Games but so she won't get killed Katniss takes her place. The other person is chosen and it is Peeta Mellark, the boy who gave her bread after her father died (in a mine explosion many years earlier) and Katniss gets worried about killing him.

First it is her mother and Prim, next is unexpectantly Peeta's father who bring her cookies and the promise to feed Prim, next is Gale who promises to feed her family, last is Madge who brings her the mocking jay pin, which is her symbol though out the book.
