Touching Spirit Bear

Cole is very confident, and seemingly courageous. after growing up, being beaten by his father, while his mother watched, helplessly fearful for herself, its easier for him to push away the world. he pushes away the world by being completely undesirable, and mean to everyone.

Cole did it

The ancestor rock helped Cole deal with his anger by serving as a physical representation of his emotions. By talking to the rock and smashing it as a way to release his anger, Cole was able to confront and process his feelings in a constructive manner. The ritual of interacting with the rock allowed Cole to connect with his emotions and begin to heal.

He learns that he broke it's trust because he tried to capture it. He realizes how many peoples' trusts he had broken. He also learns that the beaver is calm, it can make dams that block whole rivers, just by using his two front teeth.

It says in the book that he was abused by his parents. That's why he abused Cole, because he learned at a young age.

Edwin was able to pay for the new supplies and cabin materials by selling his beloved motorcycle. He made the sacrifice to ensure that he could provide for Cole's healing journey on the island in "Touching Spirit Bear."

the small birds irritate cole because hes on the ground helpless while there "mocking" him by being able to move and doing whatever they want. Again while hes on the ground useless unable to move

I don't think that is specifically said but what it did say in Chapter 1 I believe is that he could suffer permanent brain damage and is still receiving therapy for his injuries. He speaks in slurs and walks kind of funny.

Cole is either afraid of the spirit bear ( he tries to kill it, people don't kill some thing they're not afraid of. Well then again Cole does have issues.) or he's afraid of being lonely "...the realization that he was alone, totally alone with himself. And it scared him."

Peter Driscal had a point of frustration when both the family's are at circle justice, when he holds the feather and talks about what he want happening to Cole. he says," i wish that Cole get shipped off to an island and get what he did to my in a harder way." it is like in chapter 6 of the book.
