The Citizens Bank of Louisiana, a predecessor of J.P. Morgan Chase and Co., issued its own notes before the Civil War with the word "Dix", ten in French, on one side of the note. As the currency became widespread, people referred to the place of origin as "the land of the Dix," which was eventually shortened to "Dixieland". A true 1860 Dixie note is sold for about $9000 if it is untorn and in fairly good condition. They are extremely rare.

There is no currency called a "millie". You may be looking at a bill whose denomination is given in French, where "mille" (no "i") means 1000. If so, please post a new and separate question with the country of origin.

Issuance of silver certificates was discontinued in stages beginning in June 1963, when the rising price of silver made it impossible for the Treasury to redeem silver certificates for an equivalent amount of metal in coins or bullion. The final printing date was March 25, 1964.

1928 A and B are the most common of all 1928 $1 silver certificates. In average condition they retail for $5 to $10.

There used to be. They were printed up till 1945, but the last ones carried the series date 1934.

Bills printed before 1990 have essentially no high-tech anticounterfeiting features. Things like watermarks, security strips, and so on weren't introduced until the series that started in that decade. About the best you can do at home would be the following:

> Look for tiny blue and red fibers embedded in the paper. These are tiny bits of very fine thread that were mixed in with the paper because they're difficult for a counterfeiter to reproduce.

> Check the teeth (points) around the Treasury Seal. They should be sharp and evenly spaced.

> Look closely at the engraving of Ben Franklin's face. Again, the lines should be sharp and clear. The image should have a certain amount of apparent depth to it.

"In God We Trust" wasn't put on $5 bills until 1963 so older bills without it are not errors.

They are worth 5 to 12 dollars in circulated condition. In uncirculated condition they are worth 45 dollars or more. This is not a rare date.

There weren't any federally-issued $20 bills dated 1910 but at that time many private banks printed their own bills under federal charter. If your bill has the name of a private bank on it, include that name.

That's not an error. The phrase "In God We Trust" wasn't added to U.S. currency (paper money) until 1957.

The first US $2 bill was issued in July 1862 as a United States Note with a portrait of Alexander Hamilton. Over the years it has undergone numerous redesigns and in 1929 when all US currency was downsized to present day size the familar portrait of Thomas Jefferson found its place on the obverse of the $2 bill. The $2 bill was officially discontinued in 1966. However, in 1976, the Treasury department again issued the $2 bill with the design of the bicentennial. Subsequent printings have been made in most series years, with the most recent (as of this writing) being the 2013 series.
