How many us dollars are printed per day?

How much currency is printed in the United States on a daily bases?

The Federal Reserve prints about $36,500,000. daily. What is included? The US has to print currency to replace old & damaged notes. When daily Bank to Bank Transfers can not be meant, extra currency is printed. Under the supervision of the Secret Service, the Military is used to transport currency abroad. Depending on the situation, the extra currency is printed for different branches of Government or in some instances for the Private Sector. Although the Federal Government has yearly budgets in the Billions committed to Countries all around the world, situations arise all the time. When this happens, The Federal Reserve prints currency to meet the demand.

In the day, currency was preloaded on Military Jets, ready to go anywhere in the world. Today, the Federal Government has agreements with certain countries & US Currency is vaulted.

Hey I need to improve my original answer. In the United States, the Federal Government prints about $36,500,000 notes per day, which is equal to about $500,000,000.00 per day. Most of it is replacement of old/worn notes [so they say]. Plus you know they want all the older money that stated on the front left side that this note can be turned in to any Federal Reserve Bank for Lawful Money, meaning you could get paid in Gold.... We were taken off the Gold Standard during the Nixon Administration so don't bother taking those old bills in thinking your gonna get some gold coins. All they'll do is take those bills & exchange them with newer bills that read that this Note is good for all debts both Public & Private....

Are 10 and 20 dollar bills the same size?

Regardless of denomination, all current US paper bills are the same size (155.96 mm x 66.29 mm) and weight (1 gram).

In many other countries, each bill is a different size as an anti-counterfeiting measure. Higher-denomination bills are larger which prevents counterfeiters from bleaching a low-value bill and reprinting it with a higher denomination. The US instead adds special hidden security strips to each denomination. The strips for each denomination are in different places and glow different colors under UV light.

President Grover Cleveland is pictured on the 1000 dollar bill. He was our 22nd (1885-1889) and 24th President (1893-1897).
That denomination was last printed in 1945, although the bills still had a "series date" of 1934.

Other DenominationsPresident William McKinley (1897- 1901) who became President after winning over Cleveland, is on our $500 bill.

James Madison (1809-1817) is on the $5,000 bill and Salmon P. Chase is on our $10,000 bill. Who is Salmon P. Chase? He was the U.S. Supreme Court Justice from 1864-1873.

Distribution of bills larger than $100 was halted by President Nixon in 1969 as a way to make it more difficult for organized criminals to move large amounts of money undetected. Technically they're still legal to spend, but in general they're worth more than their face value to a collector.
