Bills are printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington (and, after 1993, also at Fort Worth), not in Denver.

So, you either have a bill with a series letter D indicating it was the 5th Treasurer/Secretary combination in the series, or it has a D in the serial number which is just part of the incremental counter.

If the D is next to the date, it's worth $2-3. If the D is in the serial number, please post a new question giving the letter, if any, that's next to the date. You don't have to copy out the serial number, however, because that doesn't affect its value.

The face value of any coin or bank note is what is written on it, in your case, One Dollar. However there were no 1976-dated US $1 bills, only $2 bills.

Cashing in a US silver certificate is almost never a wise idea. Banks aren't allowed to pay any premium for collectible bills or coins they receive; you'd only get face value for your bill.

You first need to find out what your bill might be worth. Most common silver certificate values have been estimated on this site. First determine its date and denomination, then look for questions in the form "What is the value of a [date] US [$$] dollar silver certificate?", e.g. "What is the value of a 1953 US 10 dollar silver certificate?"

If the bill's value is more than a couple of dollars above its face value you might be able to sell it privately to a collector or on a site like eBay. If its value is substantially higher, it would be worthwhile having the bill evaluated in person by an expert dealer or appraiser before trying to sell it. Truly valuable bills might bring more if put up for auction.

There were no $5 U.S. Notes printed with that date. U.S. Notes have a red seal. 1934 $5 bills were printed as silver certificates (blue) and Federal Reserve notes (green).

There is no such thing as a modern $3 bill. There were some odd-denomination bills issued by private banks in the 19th century but you would have to specify which bank and what date to have any idea of its value. If it's in decent condition, any of the bank-issued $3 notes (or any other denomination for that matter) will be fairly valuable.

Value is based on year it was made and the condition. You need to post a longer question including the bill's date and what letter if any is next to the date. You don't need to include the serial number, though.

A 100 star notes value can vary depending on the series date. However no matter what it will be worth more than 100 dollars.

$100 silver certificates were only printed in 3 series: 1878, 1880, and 1891. Very few of them survive today and are considered to be very rare to extremely rare, with retail prices of many thousands of dollars depending on a bill's date and condition.

Even though all denominations from $1 to $1000 were printed as silver certificates at one point or another, bills of $20 and above were mostly issued as other forms of currency.

Please don't assume that every bill is a Federal Reserve Note. The banner across its top and the red seal indicate it's a United States Note, a form of paper money issued directly by the Federal government. US Notes were discontinued in the 1960s.

The largest bill ever printed was $100,000 and they were only for use by the Federal Reserve System. They were never put into circulation.
