How was volley ball made?

Answer

Most quality volleyball's consist of three primary levels of construction. The first level is a rubber bladder. Essentially, this rubber bladder is the same material of a standard bike inner tube. Usually the bladder is then either floating, partially attached or totally attached to a cloth layer. This cloth layer is made out of material that looks much like cheese cloth and is sealed with a rubber like glue. The outer most layer, shell, is made of leather panels, normally 18, which are glued to the the cloth layer.

What is another part of your body besides arms and hands for volleyball?

I dont suggest using any other part of your body , but you can . You can use anything above the waist to hit a ball , but the problem is control . Are you able to control the ball from where you hit it ? this is why if a ball hits your arms and then hits you in the face you lose the point because it a double hit , as you are allowed to use your head in volleyball .

Set a volleyball?

make kind of like a window with your fingers so you can track the ball. your index fingers about 1-2 inches apart above your forehead, with your thumbs spread about 3-4 inches and turn your wrists out, track the ball through your fingers, and then hit with both hands and the same time using only your finger pads. try not to make any noise when you do this, and keep spin off the ball so your hitters can get it over with their own spin.

Where did volleyball come from?

Volleyball was originally named Mintonette. However, at the first demonstration game held before a congregation of YMCA Physical Education Directors in 1896, Professor Alfred T. The name was later spelt as one word when in 1952, the US Volleyball Association voted in favour of doing so. Volleyball was originally named Mintonette. What is a net violation in volleyball?

-All balls and serves have to get over the net if you want it to count as a point for your team. If it doesn't, it's a point for the other team.

-If you hands touch the net, either when blocking or hitting, it's an automatic point for the other team.

-If the ball touches the antenna on the net, then it's automatically out of bounds, point for the other team.

Does Volleyball Have A Time Limit?

There is no time limit to complete the game but the referee can tell you to serve quicker to move the game along. Since a point is scored on every play it would be pretty difficult to manipulate the length of play.

What is the difference of the new volley ball scoring system and the old volley ball scoring system?

The "old" volleyball scoring system is know as "side-out" scoring which essentially means that you can only score a point when you are serving. So for example, if the opposing team serves at you, and you win that play, then it is called a side-out, and it is your turn to serve for the next point. No points are given for side-outs, which lead to some very lengthy games (if teams are just siding-out back and forth). Side-out scoring was played to 15, win by 2.

The "new" scoring system is known as "rally" scoring which means that points are given on every play, even side-outs. The change to this type of scoring was an attempt to speed up games, as well as give more weight to mistakes made by players. In almost all types of volleyball today (high school, club, international, and now even college volleyball), games are played to 25, win by 2. In beach volleyball however, games are played to 21.

What is the overhand serve in volleyball?

On YouTube there plenty of videos of how to serve. See related links, below, for an excellent example of various serving techniques, from underhand to overhand, both standing and stepping serves, with and without spin. If you're a complete beginner to the sport, start with underhand serving and get comfortable with the motion and weight of the ball. When you're ready to start overhand serving, start with the stationary serve then work up to the stepping serve before adding spin to the serve.

The secret to good serving is simply to throw high and forward, whilst stepping and jumping to meet the ball on its descent, forward of the base line (without touching the court until the ball is hit, obviously). Hit the ball with the heel of your hand to gain maximum punch, at the highest point you can reach and with maximum effort. The higher and more forward you can jump the better, as the ball can effectively be propelled downwards over the net, rather than up and over the net; and the faster you can serve, the more difficult it will be for your opponents to recover the ball for a setup and return. Of course serving the ball is one thing, serving with accuracy is quite another, but that will come with practice. Good luck and, above all, enjoy yourself.

Is there a striker position in volleyball?

If striker means hitter...

It_is_all_front_row_positions:P

^ the previous answer is incorrect.

There is no "striker" in volleyball. There is though a SPIKER, who can be either a middle or power,

the three positions in volleyball are a setter, middle and power.

Setter being the most important because they get passed the ball to set it up nice and high for either the power or middle to spike or send it over the net.

How do you serve the ball in volleyball?

Serving a Volleyball1. First off, you always want to stand like you are throwing a softball. So stand facing the other court, if you are a righty you're standing facing your right. Does that make sense?

2. You never never hold the ball with both hands when you go to toss the ball up, it seems like you would have more control, but you actually have less control over the ball.

3. Toss the ball in front of your hitting hand shoulder...This is important because if you toss it in front of your face (which you are going to do the first couple times because our arms throw naturally curved) You toss up with your left hand in front of your right shoulder and as you toss you bring your hitting arm forward. **You want to do this all in one smooth motion because you have more power!**

4. Swing your right hand forward, reaching as high as possible. Contact the ball with your whole hand, NOT A FIST!!! A fist is not illegal in volleyball but it is bad form and you have no control over where the ball goes! You should be contacting the ball with your whole hand, the fingers are used to snap the ball into a topspin.

7. After you have served BEHIND THE FAR BLUE LINE! get into your volleyball position again right away after you serve. You never know when the other team will return it.
Tips
* Perfect your underhand serve first, so if you mess up, you are always confident with that!
* Make sure that the ball is filled with air or else it will fall flat on the ground.
* Practice makes perfect, so practice this a lot!
* Switch right/left depending on what hand is more comfortable for you.
* Toss ball ahead of you and snap your wrist upon contact to create topspin which makes the ball dive as it crosses the net.
* Don't punch the ball, do a smooth swing at it.
* Spend some time practicing only your throw cause it can mess up the whole serve and then the other team will get the ball and the point!
* Using your momentum can help a lot especially if you have a small body.
* Take a few steps or none, depending on how comfortable you feel.
* But you have to have fun, because it is a fun sport.
Warnings
* This may cause stress on your arm, so warm up before serving. What I always do is get a partner and throw the ball across the net a few times until you feel your arm is stretched out.. That is what we do at practice and at games!
* Everyone says the rule has changed about if you have a bad toss you can let it drop... Is has NOT changed... If you have a bad toss, you can drop it only once and then the ref will wave you on again! ALWAYS WAIT UNTIL THE REF WAVES YOU ON TO SERVE!

Volleyball can you use your feet or head?

Though it isn't the best decision because of lack of accuracy and strength, you are allowed to contact the ball with your head. This generally happens when someone is digging; the hit comes so fast and the digger doesn't have time to react, resulting them getting hit in the face/head. The ball can still be played off their hit. Usually players don't try on purpose to do this.
