Adult Male Walruses reach sexual maturity as early as 7 years but typically dont get to mate until they are around 15 years old. Females on the other hand reach maturity between 4 to 6 years. Gestation usually lasts between 15 to 16 months at the end of which a single calf is born. Calves are born during Spring between April to June. The calves weigh between 45 to 75 kilograms (100 to 170 pounds) at birth. Mothers nurse the young ones for over a year and the youngsters stay with their mothers for upto 3 to 5 years.

Males (in rare cases females as well) have pharyngial sacks that act like resonating chambers for the sounds emitted frequently during the mating and at diving. Because of these sacks, walruses can float in the water in vertical position, with the head above the water.They have air sacks in their throat to keep them afloat and not drown while sleeping on the waters surface.

yes. walruses are aggressive. as doing my research they use their tusks to stab or something like that to have the prey bleeding. once the prey is unconcios that's the end of the battle the walrus won.

Walruses live in the cool Arctic climates and can be found in great numbers in the Pacific & Atlantic Ocean areas around the Arctic. Good population of Pacific Walruses can be found near Bering Strait, Eastern Siberia, Alaska etc. The Atlantic population can be found in the Canadian Arctic, Greenland and even Russia. An isolated population of Walruses are also known to inhabit the Laptev Sea. They prefer shallow waters due to their limited diving abilities. They can be found in areas where their favorite prey "clams" are found in good numbers.

The walrus has a diverse diet, feeding on numerous small marine organisms like shrimp, crabs, tube worms, soft corals, tunicates, sea cucumbers, mollusks etc. Their favorite prey are the "Benthic Bivalce Mollusks" in other words Clams. They forage for prey along the sea bottom and identify them using their sensitive whiskers. They are opportunistic and can evey prey on smaller seals when they find one.

The walrus' skin is very wrinkly. These wrinkles are like armor and protect the walrus when they "joust" with thether males. Their thick skin also helps protect them from all predators except the orca whale, polar bear, and man. Living in the Arctic is not hard for the walrus to do because they have blubber under their skin. Blubber is their body fat. This protects them from the cold water in the Arctic. A dougon is a large sea creature. It feeds mainly on sea grass. It is also reffered to as the Mannatee or sea cow. It also bears a great resemblence to tom gordon.
