It would be extremely difficult to select the best Warhammer player. The most simple answer would be the winner of the Warhammer 40k and Fantasy Grand Tournaments, but even these are not international tournaments, so while they would give a good indication of who some of the best players are, one cannot select a single best player.

Warhammer 40000 is not Gothic. Out of all the races you can be, Dark Eldar are probably the most Gothic but they still aren't very. If you are wanting some Gothic characters you may have more luck with Warhammer Fantasy because that has the Undead, the Tomb Kings and the Dark Elves. However it does contain a lot of Gothic themes, especially in the literature - rulebooks, codices etc. Also many of the terrain pieces are styled after Gothic architecture.
Get a Codex and read it. If you don't have 2 troops and an HQ you can't play anyways.

Yes, a SM squad needs to have 10 in a squad to add a Heavy weapon among the team. For the killing power you really want. It's best just to fork out for some Devastators. CSM follow the same rules.

Well you'd have to make the model for him, then you could drop him in game with whatever stats of other HQ you'd want. Eliphas isn't a mentioned or special character in 40k TT, so you'd have to choose of which HQ do you want for his stats. Like Abaddon, or Kharn for good examples.

You can use the wavy layer in between as sheet metal (Great for makeshift barricades),
You can cut out a few layers and lay em on top of each other, then use greenstuff to cover up the gaps where you cut it to create a hill.

How do you save in dawn of war 2?
In campaign mode, you cannot save the game. Withdrawing means that you are forced to lose all your progress and begin from the start of the game again (the day counter progresses forward, since you wasted one day losing). In multiplayer, I am unsure, but I don't think saving is possible either. Try to finish a game in one sitting.
